Spring College Prep Series at UK

From April 3-4 2021, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Spring College Prep Series at UK. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of five divisions that included the Boys 16-18 Division, Boys 14-15 Division, Boys 11-13 Division, Boys Under 10 Division, and Girls 14-18 Division.

Rocco Zakutney from Paducah, KY was the first place finisher for the weekend. Zakutney brought in scores of 71 and 73 for a weekend total of 144. Gehrig Sexton from Monticello, KY was the runner up for the weekend. Sexton finished the weekend with scores of 77 and 71 for a total of 148. Cole Starnes from Fishers, IN rounded the top three honors. Starnes brought in scores of 73 and 76 for a weekend total of 149.

Charlie Spiller from Richmond, KY was the first place finisher for the weekend. Spiller brought in scores of 78 and 77 for a weekend total of 155. Marcus Lee from Troy, MI was the runner up for the weekend. Lee finished with scores of 83 and 74 for a weekend total of 157. Grant Broughton from Owensboro, KY and Sam Guest from Louisville, KY tied for the top three honors for the weekend. Broughton finished with scores of 83 and 78 for a total of 161 on the weekend. Guest finished with scores of 84 and 77 for a total of 161 on the weekend.

Jacob Holzer from Louisville, KY was the first place finisher for the weekend. Holzer finished with scores of 72 and 82 for a weekend total of 154. Will Judd from Lousiville, KY and Wyatt Merkins from Georgetown, KY tied for the runner up honors for the weekend. Judd finished with scores of 76 and 81 for a weekend total of 157. Merkins brought in scores of 80 and 77 for a weekend total of 157.

Hadley Ashton from Erie, CO was the first place finisher for the weekend after winning a playoff hole. Ashton brought in scores of 75 and 77 for a weekend total of 152. Macie Brown from Mount Washington, KY was the runner up for the weekend. Brown brought in scores of 75 and 77 for a weekend total of 152. Gabriella Tapp from South Lyon, MI rounded out the top three honors with scores of 80 and 74. Tapp finished the weekend with a score of 154.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 8-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. With play open to both males and females, nearly every junior golfer is eligible to participate on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Currently the HJGT is the largest multi-day junior golf tour in the United States hosting more 2-day nationally ranked events than any other tour. The HJGT has been able to achieve this goal by running the most professional events and providing an exceptional value to all of our players and families over the last 14 years.

Based out of Orlando, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the country. In 2021, the HJGT will conduct events in Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Canada. Juniors will compete in 1 of 6 divisions which are: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys under 10, Girls 14-18, and Girls Under 13. Click here to view approximate yardages for each division. The HJGT season is based on a calendar year and players earn points throughout the season towards year end honors beginning December 31, 2021.
