Spring College Pprep Series at UF

From Saturday, May 11 – Sunday, May 12, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Spring College Prep Series at UF at The Mark Bostic Golf Course in Gainesville, FL. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole, two-day format and the field was made from all six divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Bryson DeChambeau Boys 10 and Under, Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18, and the Justin Rose Division Girls 13 and Under.

Boys 16-18

Spring College Pprep Series at UF

James Ballato of Fernandina Beach, FL took home1st place honors in the Tiger Woods | Boys 16-18 Division after stellar rounds of 68-72 for a 4-under par total of 140 for the tournament. Levi Edkins took came in 2nd place after great rounds of 74-71. Nathan Kraynyk rounded out the top 3 with a two-day total of 147.

Boys 14-15

Spring College Pprep Series at UF

Ken Shibata of Fairbault, MN came away victorious in the Will Smith | Boys 14-15 Division after firing rounds of 73-75 for a two-day total of 148. Owen Mullen only finished two shots behind Ken to take 2nd place after rounds of 72-78. Rohan Singh finished 3rd after a two-day total of 153 for the tournament.

Spring College Pprep Series at UF

Phillip Dunham of Jacksonville, FL took home the hardware for the Ernie Els | Boys 11-13 Division after great rounds of 71-74.Connor McCann came in solo 2nd place after shooting rounds of 78-74.Rounding out the top 3, only 2 strokes behind Connor, was Mason Howell after shooting a two-day total of 154.

Spring College Pprep Series at UF

Mackenzie Gallagher of Orlando, FL took home 1st place this weekend in the Justin Timberlake | Girls 14-18 Division after shooting consistent scores of 74-72 to edge out Sarah Edwards by one stroke. Sarah shot rounds of 73-74 to take home solo 2nd and Alex Crafton took home 3rd with a two-day total of 149.

Spring College Pprep Series at UF

Haley Davis of Ocala, FL shot rounds of 79-77 to take home 1st place in the Justin Rose | Girls U13 Division. Ann-Sophie Dourgault show a two-day total of 165 to finish 2nd in the tournament. Coming in 3rd place was Arianna Leon after shooting a tournament score of 170 for two days.

Spring College Pprep Series at UF

Stafford Davis of Thomasville, GA proved to be a great sport this weekend as the only player in the Bryson DeChambeau | Boys U10 Division. He showed great determination after firing scores of 83-82 and taking him 1st place honors.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 8-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. With play open to both males and females, nearly every junior golfer is eligible to participate on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Currently the HJGT is the largest multi-day junior golf tour in the United States hosting more 2-day nationally ranked events than any other tour. The HJGT has been able to achieve this goal by running the most professional events and providing an exceptional value to all of our players and families over the last 14 years.

Based out of Orlando, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the country. In 2021, the HJGT will conduct events in Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Canada. Juniors will compete in 1 of 6 divisions which are: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys under 10, Girls 14-18, and Girls Under 13. Click here to view approximate yardages for each division. The HJGT season is based on a calendar year and players earn points throughout the season towards year end honors beginning December 31, 2021.
