South Jersey Junior Open #1

On Saturday September 22 – Sunday September 23, 2018 The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the South Jersey Junior Open #1 at Blue Heron Pines GC in Egg Harbor City, NJ. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole, two-day format and the field was made from Five divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Justin Rose Division Girls U13, and the Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18.

Tiger Woods Boys 16-18

South Jersey Junior Open #1

Michael Mitnick  2020, Linwood, NJ captured the first-place finish at the South Jersey Junior Open in the Tiger Woods Boys 16-18 division with a 2-day total of 155 (80-75). With solid play both days, Mitnick was able to hold off James Bradley and Lasse Lehmann by 4 shots. Both boys tied for second with a final score of 159.

Will Smith Boys 14-15

South Jersey Junior Open #1

In the Will Smith Boys 14-15 division Christopher Pieper of Woodbury, Ct took home first place this weekend in shooting a 2-day total of 155. Solid play in the second round allowed Pieper to take victory over Aiden LeBlanc who finished second with a 2-day total of 169.

Ernie Els 11-13

South Jersey Junior Open #1

Andrew Stickel did not disappoint in the Ernie Els boys 11-13 division as he carded rounds of 87-88 to win in his division over Maximus Liu of Warren, NJ who carded rounds of 84-99 to claim 2nd place with a total score of 183.

Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18

South Jersey Junior Open #1

Madie Smithco ended up with the first-place finish in the Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18 Division by carding a total of 157 (78-79). With consistent rounds, Smithco was able to hold off Camille O'Halloran who shot a 2-day total of 164 to claim a 2rd place finish. Taylor Oberparleiter rounded out the division with the 3rd place finish shooting a 2-day total of 166 (82-84).

Justin Rose Girls U13

South Jersey Junior Open #1

Jolie Pastorick ended up with the first-place finish in the Justin Rose Girls U13 Division by carding a total of 181 (91-90). With consistent rounds, Pastorick was able to hold off Jillian Burks of Paoli, PA by 11 shots and claiming 2nd place.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
