South Florida Junior Open

From February 22nd- 23rd, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the South Florida Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of six divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Bryson DeChambeau Division Boys Under 10,  Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18, and Justin Rose Division Girls Under 13.

Boys 16-18

South Florida Junior Open

Diego Rojas from Port Saint Lucie, FL was the first-place finisher this weekend. Rojas brought in scores of 79 and 77 for a combined total of 156 for the weekend. George Ma from Bradenton, FL was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 80 and 77 for a combined total of 157. AJ Aquino from Boca Raton, FL finished the top three honors with scores of 82 and 83 for a weekend total of 165.

Boys 14-15

South Florida Junior Open

Jaden Russel, from Miami, FL was able to seal his victory by ending the weekend with scores of 84 and 84 for a combined total of 168. TJ Thompson from Coral Springs, FL was the runner up with scores of 86 and 82 for a 168. Casey Granata from Boca Raton, FL finished the top three honors with scores of 98 and 89 for a weekend total of 189.

Harris Khan from West Palm Beach, FL was the first-place finisher this weekend. Khan brought in scores of 81 and 80 with a combined score of 161. Mason Tome from West Palm Beach, FL was the second-place finisher with scores of 86 and 76 for a total of 162. To round out the top three was David Attia from Boca Raton, FL. Attia ended the weekend with scores of 80and 83 for a total of 163.

Kyrsten Shawah from Boca Raton, FL was the top finisher with impressive scores of 75 and 79for a 154 weekend finish. Nicole Gal from Oakville, Canada took home the runner up title with scores of 76 and 79 for a weekend total of 155.  Agatha Alessonfrom Weston, FL rounded out the top three with scores of 78 and 79 a combined total of 157.

Girls U13

Angela Jiang from Miami, FL was the top finisher for the Justin Rose division with scores of 83 and 79. Her combined total for the weekend was 162 strokes. Eva Lye from Naples, FL was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 85 and 78, a combined total of 163 strokes. Abigail Lee from Pembroke Pines, FL rounded out the top three with scores of 90 and 85 a combined total of 175.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 8-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. With play open to both males and females, nearly every junior golfer is eligible to participate on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Currently the HJGT is the largest multi-day junior golf tour in the United States hosting more 2-day nationally ranked events than any other tour. The HJGT has been able to achieve this goal by running the most professional events and providing an exceptional value to all of our players and families over the last 14 years.

Based out of Orlando, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the country. In 2021, the HJGT will conduct events in Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Canada. Juniors will compete in 1 of 6 divisions which are: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys under 10, Girls 14-18, and Girls Under 13. Click here to view approximate yardages for each division. The HJGT season is based on a calendar year and players earn points throughout the season towards year end honors beginning December 31, 2021.
