On Sunday, July 29 – Monday, July 30, 2018, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour hosted the Silverado Junior Open in Napa, California. The two-day, thirty-six-hole tournament held at the Silverado Resort & Spa – South Course consisted of players from all six of our divisions including the Tiger Woods Boys 16-18 Division, Will Smith Boys 14-15 Division, Ernie Els Boys 11-13 Division, Bryson DeChambeau Boys U10 Division, Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18 Division, and the Justin Rose Girls U13 Division.

Tiger Woods Boys 16-18

Silverado Junior Open

Daniel Crippen of Missoula captured the title in the Tiger Woods Boys 16-18 Division with his two-day total of +7. He led his playing field with the most birdies (7), the longest birdie or better streak (2), and the lowest scoring average (75.5). Second-place finisher was A.J. Harmier of Windsor, California who completed the tournament at +14. Napa native, Rocco Lee, placed third after making 161 strokes for a +17 finish.

Will Smith Boys 14-15

Silverado Junior Open

In the Will Smith Boys 14-15 Division, it was Davis McDowell of San Rafael, California who walked away the champion at +6. He led his playing field with the most birdies (5), the longest birdie or better streak (2), and the lowest scoring average (75). Robbie McLain of Rocklin, California finished second with his two-day total of +20. Third-place finisher was Jack Hazard of Alamo, California who made 172 strokes for a +28 finish.

Ernie Els 11-13

Silverado Junior Open

Eddie Zhang of Rowland Heights won the Ernie Els Boys 11-13 Division after completing the thirty-six holes with a total of +11. He made 1 birdie and led his playing field with the lowest scoring average of 77.5. Arjun Aujla of Greenbrae, California placed second following his 165 strokes over the course of the two-days to result in a +21 finish. Belvedere, California’s Brody Root finished third with 179 strokes for a +35 total at the end of the tournament.

Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18

Silverado Junior Open

Dymphna Ueda of Concord, California claimed the first-place victory in the Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18 Division as she totaled +4 at the end of the two days. She led her playing field with the most birdies (7) and the lowest scoring average (74). Second-place finisher, Katie Robinson of American Canyon, California, finished at +16. Kendall Matrisian of Clayton, California made 161 strokes through the thirty-six holes to finish one stroke behind second-place finisher at +17, claiming the third-place spot.

Justin Rose Girls U13

Silverado Junior Open

Sofia Aldridge of Novato, California won the Justin Rose Girls U13 Division after completing the two days at +28. She had a Par-3 average of 3.9 and led her playing field with the lowest scoring average of 86. Erica Villegas of Fairfield placed second after she made 175 strokes to total her +31 finish. Third-place finisher was Emily Knox of Discovery Bay, California whose 182 strokes resulted in a +38 finish at the end of the thirty-six holes. All Top-3 finishers made one birdie each.

Boys 10 Under

Silverado Junior Open

The Bryson DeChambeau Boys U10 Division’s tournament champion was Jayden Lizama of Elk Grove, California who totaled +9. He led his playing field with the most birdies (5), the longest birdie or better streak (2), the lowest Par-3 average (3.2), and the lowest scoring average (76.5). Napa’s own Jack Keller placed second following his 169 strokes through the thirty-six holes to result in a +25 finish.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
