Sea Island Junior Open

From November 28-29, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Sea Island Junior Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of five divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Bryson DeChambeau Division Boys Under 10, and the Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18.

Boys 16-18

Sea Island Junior Open

Sean Engler from Bluffton, SC was the first-place finisher this weekend. Engler brought in scores 73 and 73 for a combined total of 146 for the weekend. Grant Mahaffey from Richmond Hill, GA was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 74 and 72 for a combined total of 146. Matthew Mattioli from Cheswick, PA finished the top three honors with scores of 78 and 71 for a weekend total of 149.

Brennan Cozad from Alpharetta, GA was the first-place finisher this weekend. Cozad brought in scores of 72 and 73 for a combined total of 145 for the weekend. Aidan Jones from Jesup, GA was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 75 and 76 for a combined total of 151. Finley Burke from Jesup, GA finished the top three honors with scores of 78 and 74 for a weekend total of 152.

William Sanders from Johnson City, TN was the first-place finisher this weekend. Sanders brought in scores of 73 and 74 for a combined total of 147 for the weekend. Michael Stagnaro from Cincinnati, OH was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 75 and 78 for a combined total of 153. Cameron Kuchar from St. Simons Island, GA and William Bassett from Savannah, GA both finished the top three honors. Kuchar finished with scores of 75 and 79 for a weekend total of 154. Bassett finished with scored of 81 and 73 for a total of 154.

Taylor Sieg from Summit, NJ was the first-place finisher this weekend. Sieg brought in scores of 77 and 77 for a combined total of 154 for the weekend. Kathryn Robinson  from American Canyon, CA was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 81 and 79 for a combined total of 160. Mattie Nall from Chattanooga, TN finished the top three honors with scores of 85 and 78 for a weekend total 163.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
