Scottsdale Junior Open

On Saturday November 24 – Sunday November 25, 2018 The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Scottsdale Junior Open in Scottsdale, AZ. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole, two-day format and the field was made from six divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Bryson Dechambeau Division Boys U10, Justin Rose Division Girls U13, and the Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18.

Tiger Woods Boys 16-18

Scottsdale Junior Open

Drew Sagrillo captured the first-place finish at the Scottsdale Junior Open in the Tiger Woods Boys 16-18 Division with a two-day total of Even Par. With solid play both days, Sagrillo was able to hold off Tommy White who finished with a two-day total of +10. Timothy Blake rounded out the division with the 3rd place finish shooting a two-day total of +27.

Will Smith Boys 14-15

Scottsdale Junior Open

In the Will Smith Boys 14-15 Division, Jake Boor of Omaha, NE took home first place this weekend with a two-day total of even par. Solid play in the second round allowed Boor to take victory over Harrison Freeze who finished second with a two-day total of +14.

Ernie Els 11-13

Scottsdale Junior Open

Carver Larson did not disappoint in the Ernie Els boys 11-13 Division as he finished with +26 to win in his division over Austin Plunkett who finished with a two-day total of +39 to claim 2nd place. Nicholas Butkiewicz shot a 2-day total of +45 to take a solo 3rd place finish.

Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18

Isabella Galla ended up with the first-place finish in the Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18 Division by finishing with a total of +2. With consistent rounds, Galla was able to hold off Isabelle Olivas-Lowell and Kathryn Gleason who both finished with a two-day total of +18 to claim 2nd place tie.

In the Bryson DeChambeau Boys U10 Division, Marcus Kang took home first place this weekend by shooting a 2-day total scoring +62. Solid play in the second round allowed Marcus to take victory over Michael Kang who finished second with a 2-day total of +67 placing second place.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
