The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour traveled to Scottsdale, AZ to host the Scottsdale Junior Open at Talking Stick Golf Course on November 25-26. The players enjoyed some great warm weather and a beautifully maintained course to post some great scores. Every player learned a lot, and had tons of fun competing against one another at this great golf course.
John Meene of Surprise, AZ is the boys 16-18 champion. Brandon won his division with an 75 on Saturday and an 71 and a playoff hole on Sunday for a two-day total of 146. 2nd place went to Conner Wierman of Oro Valley, AZ who also scored a two-day total of 146 (72-74). Drew Sagrillo finished in 3rd with a two-day total of 149 (74-75). These competitors showed off their experience as they navigated this course and powered through the heat.
Jacob Tarkany of Scottsdale, AZ is the champion of the boys 14-15 division. Jacob showed his composure as he finished with great scores on both days. He posted a first round score of 71 and a second-round score of 71 for a total of 141. Ben Daane from Rapid City, SD came in 2nd after finishing with a two-day total of 154 (78-76). Finishing in 3rd place also from Scottsdale, AZ was Charles Van Slyck after posting a two-day score of 155 (78-77). These players loved competing with each other on each round as they all improved their skills.
Ashley Menne of Surprise, AZ is the girls 14-18 champion. Ashley had an impressive 70 on Saturday and followed it up with a 69 on Sunday (139). Finishing in 2nd from Honolulu, HI was Millburn Ho who posted a two-day total of 153 (78-75). Finishing in 3rd place was Laura Lu of Paradise Valley, AZ after also scoring a two-day total of 165 (79-86). All the players showed off their great determination, and never let anything stray their focus.
Jillian Breedlove is the girls 13 and under champion. Jillian of University Place, WA shot an 80 on Saturday and an 78 on Sunday (158). Georgia Barr of Calgary, AB finished 2nd with a two-day total of 171 (89-82). Finishing in 3rd was Ella Manley of Calhoun, GA after shooting a two-day total of 171 (89-83). This whole division had a lot of fun competing with one another while also learning some valuable skills.
