San Francisco Junior Open #2

On Saturday September 15 – Sunday September 16, 2018 The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the San Francisco Junior Open #2 at Skywest GC in Heyward, CA. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole, two-day format and the field was made from Five divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Justin Rose Division U13, and the Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18.

Tiger Woods Boys 16-18

San Francisco Junior Open #2

Kane Lauterman of Corte Madera, CA captured the first-place finish at the San Francisco Junior Open #2 in the Tiger Woods Boys 16-18 division with a 2-day total of 151 (78-73). With solid play both days, Lauterman was able to hold off Mason Mancasola by 2 shots. Daniel Kraft rounded out the division with the 3rd place finish shooting a 2-day total of 156 (81-75).

Will Smith Boys 14-15

San Francisco Junior Open #2

In the Will Smith Boys 14-15 division Ashwath Ekambaram of Fremont, CA took home first place this weekend in shooting a 2-day total of 160. Solid play in the second round allowed Ekambaram to take victory over Jason Macaranas who finished second with a 2-day total of 177.

Ernie Els 11-13

San Francisco Junior Open #2

Ryan Zhang did not disappoint in the Ernie Els boys 11-13 division as he carded rounds of 79-80 to win in his division in a tiebreaker over Arjun Aujla who also carded rounds of 79-80. Rounding out the top 3 is Brody Root of Belvedere, CA with a 2-day total of 172.

Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18

San Francisco Junior Open #2

Kelly Yu ended up with the first-place finish in the Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18 Division by carding a total of 159 (78-81). Yu was able to hold off Lauren Shew and Alissa Salazar by 1 shot. Shew carded rounds of 78-82 for a total of 160 while Alissa Salazar carded a 79-81.

Justin Rose Girls U13

San Francisco Junior Open #2

Olivia Duan ended up with the first-place finish in the Justin Rose Girls U13 Division by carding a total of 157 (79-78). With consistent rounds, Duan was able to hold off Sydney Silva by 11 shots (88-80,168). Rounding out the division was Sofia Aldridge who shot a 2-day total of 172 to claim a 3rd place finish.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
