On Saturday November 17 – Sunday November 18, 2018 The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Saint Simons Island Junior Open in St. Simons Island, GA. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole, two-day format and the field was made from five divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Justin Rose Division Girls U13, and the Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18. Boys 16-18

Felix van Kleef captured the first-place finish at the Saint Simons Island Junior Open in the Tiger Woods Boys 16-18 Division with a two-day total of +5. With solid play both days, van Kleef was able to hold off Nicholas Thompson who shot a two-day total of +6, only one shot behind van Kleef. Rounding out the division was James Ballato who shot a two-day total of +7 for a solo third place finish
Boys 14-15

In the Will Smith Boys 14-15 Division, Beck Lewis took home first place this weekend by shooting a two-day total of +9. Solid play in the second round allowed Lewis to take victory over Hughes Threlkeld who finished second with a 2 day total of +11. Rounding out the division was Brenden Tigert who finished 1 shot behind Hughes to claim a 3rd place finish.
Boys 11-13

John Brady Knight did not disappoint in the Ernie Els boys 11-13 Division as he shot a two-day total of +2 to win in his division over Jack Roberts who shot +9 to claim 2nd place. Behind Roberts was Grady Sanders who shot a 2-day total of +17 to take a solo 3rd place finish.
Girls 14-18

Ava Marano ended up with the first-place finish in the Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18 Division by carding a total of +10. With consistent rounds, Marano was able to hold off Caroline Crumrine by 2 shots. Rounding out the division was Liza Eubanks who shot a two-day total of +13 to claim a 3rd place finish.
Girls U13

Ellison Lundquist ended up with the first-place finish in the Justin Rose Girls U13 Division by carding a total of +8. With consistent rounds, Lundquist was able to hold off Mia Hammond by 1 shot. Rounding out the division was Carlee Rogers who shot a 2-day total of +37 to claim a 3rd place finish.

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.
The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
