Sacramento Junior Open

From February 29th to March 1st  the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Sacramento Junior Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of six divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Bryson DeChambeau Division Boys Under 10,  Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18, and Justin Rose Division Girls Under 13.

Boys 16-18

Sacramento Junior Open

Trysten Ewolhin from San Jose, CA was the first-place finisher this weekend. Ewolhin brought in combined scores of 76 for total of 152 strokes for the weekend. Jackson Crawford from El Dorado Hills, CA was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 78 and 77 for a combined total of 155 strokes. Lukas Taggart from Washoe Valley, NV finished the top three honors with combined scores of 79 for a weekend total of 158 strokes.

Boys 14-15

Sacramento Junior Open

Easton Hether, from Fairfield, CA was able to seal his victory by ending the weekend with combined scores of 78 for weekend total of 156 strokes. Niccolo Cristofalo from California was the runner up with scores of 79 and 85 for a combined total of 164 strokes. Stavros Teague from Gold River, CA finished the top three honors with scores of 90 and 85 for a weekend total of 175 strokes.

Sacramento Junior Open

Brody Root from Belvedere, CA was the first-place finisher this weekend. Root brought in scores of 80 and 87 with a combined score of 167 strokes. Jack Mount from Belvedere Tiburon, CA was the second-place finisher with scores of 88 and 86 for a total of 174. To round out the top three was Jack Harrison from Granite Bay, CA. Bay ended the weekend with scores of 92 and 95 for a total of 187 strokes.

Girls 14-18

Sacramento Junior Open

Marina Mata de le Barata  from Palo Alto, CA was the top finisher with impressive scores of 74 and 76 for a 150 weekend finish. Skyler May from Stockton, CA took home the runner up title with scores of 75 and 76 for a weekend total of 151.  Karen Beglin from Carson City, NV rounded out the top three with scores of  77 and 76 a combined total of 153.

Girls U13

Sacramento Junior Open

Gia Ahlowalia from San Ramon, CA was the top finisher for the Justin Rose division with scores of 73 and 76. Her combined total for the weekend was 149 strokes. Kailey Yoon from Reno, NV was the runner up for the weekend with combined scores of 85, a total of 170 strokes. Anita Lumpongpoung from Sacramento, CA rounded out the top three with scores of 90 and 87 a combined total of 177 strokes.

Giancarlo Aguirre from Lima, Peru was the top finisher with impressive scores of 78 and 89 for a 167 weekend finish. Dev Malik from San Jose, CA took home the runner up title with scores of 79 and 91 for a weekend total of 170.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 8-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. With play open to both males and females, nearly every junior golfer is eligible to participate on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Currently the HJGT is the largest multi-day junior golf tour in the United States hosting more 2-day nationally ranked events than any other tour. The HJGT has been able to achieve this goal by running the most professional events and providing an exceptional value to all of our players and families over the last 14 years.

Based out of Orlando, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the country. In 2021, the HJGT will conduct events in Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Canada. Juniors will compete in 1 of 6 divisions which are: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys under 10, Girls 14-18, and Girls Under 13. Click here to view approximate yardages for each division. The HJGT season is based on a calendar year and players earn points throughout the season towards year end honors beginning December 31, 2021.
