From September 26-27, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Rochester Junior Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of five divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18, and Justin Rose Division Girls Under 13.
Boys 16-18
Shawn Colella from Marcellus, NY was the first-place finisher this weekend. Colella brought in scores of 70 and 70 for a combined total of 140 for the weekend. Jack Berl from Victor, NY was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 72 and 70 for a combined total of 142. Ryan Connors from Mendon, NY finished the top three honors with scores of 72 and 75 for a weekend total of 147.
Boys 14-15
Jonah Whittier from Victor, NY was the first-place finisher this weekend. Whittier brought in scores of 77 and 75 for a combined total of 152 for the weekend. Matthew Carpentier from Pittsford, NY was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 78 and 77 for a combined total of 155. Caleb Decker from Vernon, NY finished the top three honors with scores of 81 and 77 for a weekend total of 158.
Boys 11-13
Kieran Cummins from Loudonville, NY was the first-place finisher this weekend. Cummins brought in scores of 76 and 75 for a combined total of 151 for the weekend. Joseph Bueme Jr from Buffalo, NY was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 75 and 77 for a combined total of 152. Colin Barber from Victor, NY finished the top three honors with scores of 88 and 78 for a weekend total of 166.
Girls 14-18
Julia Zigrossi from Spencerport, NY was the first-place finisher this weekend. Zigrossi brought in scores of 76 and 78 for a combined total of 154 for the weekend. Emily Gresham from Binghamton, NY was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 81 and 81 for a combined total of 162. Gwendolyn Yarnall from East Aurora, NY finished the top three honors with scores of 81 and 82 for a weekend total of 163.
Girls U13
Kylie Dean from Lancaster, NY was the first-place finisher this weekend. Dean brought in scores of 91 and 80 for a combined total of 171 for the weekend. Emily Zigrossi from Spencerport, NY was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 96 and 98 for a combined total of 194. Jaeda Robinson from De Witt, NY finished the top three honors with scores of 108 and 109 for a weekend total of 217.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour
The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 8-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. With play open to both males and females, nearly every junior golfer is eligible to participate on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Currently the HJGT is the largest multi-day junior golf tour in the United States hosting more 2-day nationally ranked events than any other tour. The HJGT has been able to achieve this goal by running the most professional events and providing an exceptional value to all of our players and families over the last 14 years.
Based out of Orlando, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the country. In 2021, the HJGT will conduct events in Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Canada. Juniors will compete in 1 of 6 divisions which are: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys under 10, Girls 14-18, and Girls Under 13. Click here to view approximate yardages for each division.
