Rochester Junior Open

On Saturday September 29 – Sunday September 30, 2018 The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Rochester Junior Open at Ravenwood Golf Course in Victor, NY. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole, two-day format and the field was made from six divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Bryson Dechambeau Division Boys U10, Justin Rose Division Girls U13, and the Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18.

Tiger Woods Boys 16-18

Rochester Junior Open

Jack Bailey captured the first-place finish at the Rochester Junior Open in the Tiger Woods Boys 16-18 division with a 2-day total of 144 (75-69). With solid play both days, Bailey was able to hold off Shawn Colella by1 shot. Dylan MacDonald rounded out the division with the 3rd place finish shooting a 2-day total of 148 (74-74).

Will Smith Boys 14-15

Rochester Junior Open

In the Will Smith Boys 14-15 division, Joey Maher took home first place this weekend by shooting a 2-day total of 155. Solid play in the second round allowed Maher to take victory over Zachary Locke with a total score of 156. Rounding out the division Charlie Fischer and Nick Lyons tied for third with a total of 159.

Ernie Els 11-13

Rochester Junior Open

Matthew Carpentier did not disappoint in the Ernie Els boys 11-13 division as he carded rounds of (89-78) to win in his division over Caleb Decker of Woodbury who carded rounds of (87-81) to claim 2nd place. Tomas Riccio shot a 2-day total of 191 (97-94) to take a solo 3rd place finish.

Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18

Madison Barber ended up with the first-place finish in the Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18 Division by carding a total of 157 (78-79). With consistent rounds, Barber was able to hold off 2nd place finisher, Payton Bennett by 2 shots. Rounding out the division was Anna Swan of North East, PA who shot a 2-day total of 161 to claim a 3rd place finish.

Justin Rose Girls U13

In the Justin Rose Girls U13 division, Carlee Meilleur took home the victory by firing a 2-day total of 173.  Taking second place was Lily Zhang of Buffalo, NY with a two day total of 178. Rounding out the division was Gina Milazzo who finished with a 2-day total of 183.

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
