From Saturday July 6th through Sunday July 7th, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Reunion Junior Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of six divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Bryson DeChambeau Division Boys 10 and Under, Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18, and the Justin Rose Division Girls 13 and Under.
Coleman Barnes of Heathrow, FL took the lead after scoring an outstanding 70 on Sunday. Barnes climbed to the top of the leaderboard on Sunday, with rounds of 73 and 70 to win by a margin of 2 strokes. Aryaman Mohan of Zambia finished tied in second place with rounds of 70 and 75 alongside Mohit Balaji of Reunion, FL with a weekend total of 145 strokes. Balaji shot an impressive 68 on Sunday to roundup the top-three.
Yu Xuan Li of China was able to seal his victory with rounds of 84 and 71 over the weekend, making 4 birdies the last day to finish at a two-day total of 155 strokes. Tristin Perkins of Wesley Chapel, FL claimed runner-up honors with a weekend day total of 163 with consistent weekend rounds. Rounding up the top three were Akshay Mandadapu of Lake Mary, FL and Drew Davenport of Bradenton, FL with a weekend totals of 165 strokes to tie for third place honors.
George Aguilera of Kissimmee, FL was able to seal his victory with a final round of 73 and a weekend total of 147 strokes. Aguilera made 3 birdies the last day to win by a three-shot margin over his closest competitor. Alexander Weinberg of New York, NY shot a weekend total of 150 shots and claimed solo runner-up honors. Rounding up our top-three was Jiacheng Xu of Winter Garden, FL with a weekend total of 153 strokes and claim solo third-place honors.
Sakurako Tanaka of Japan and Jiwoo Shin of Korea shared first place honors after weather came in and the rest of the playoff holes were cancelled. Both players finished with rounds of 145 strokes over the weekend. Rounding up the top three was Faith Scott of Columbus, GA with a weekend total of 155 shots to claim solo third-place honors.
Arianna Leon of Davenport, FL shot a weekend total of 154 shots and a final round of 71 to claim victory. Leon was able to win by a 3 shot margin over her closest competitor. Following her was Ann-Sophie Bourgault of Canada with a weekend total of 157 shots to finish with solo runner-up honors. And rounding up our top-three was Savannah Cherry of Brentwood, TN with a weekend total of 170 shots and take solo third-place honors.
Boys 10 Under
Nicklaus Downing of Winter Garden, FL was able to seal his victory with rounds of 76 both days, making 2 birdies the last day to finish at a two-day total of 152 strokes. Robert Dupuy of Millis, MA claimed runner-up honors with a weekend day total of 239 and consistent weekend rounds.
