From March 26th-27th, 2022, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Red Tail Junior Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of five divisions that included the Boys 16-18 Division, Boys 14-15 Division, Boys 11-13 Division, Boys Under 10 Division, and Girls 14-18 Division.
Boys 16-18

Lucas Smith from Hamilton, Canada was the first-place finisher this weekend. Smith brought in scores of 75 and 69 for a combined total of 144 for the weekend. Thomas Danielson and Chase Pochylko from Saskatoon, Canada tied for runner-up this weekend with scores of 74 and 72, and 73 and 73, for a combined total of 146 each.
Boys 14-15

Mike Liu from Lake Mary, FL was the first-place finisher this weekend. Liu brought in scores of 75 and 78 for a combined total of 153 for the weekend. Yaohang Zhu from Windermere, FL was the runner-up this weekend with scores of 90 and 77 for a combined total of 167. Steven Clement from Lake Mary, FL finished top three honors with scores of 90 and 78 for a weekend total of 168.
Boys 11-13

Luke Gossett from Sorrento, FL was the first-place finisher this weekend. Gossett brought in scores of 76 and 69 for a combined total of 145 for the weekend. Joseph Bueme Jr. from Buffalo, NY was the runner-up this weekend with scores of 75 and 77 for a combined total of 152. Orlando Torres from Oviedo, FL finished top three honors with scores of 80 and 79 for a weekend total of 159.
Girls 14-18

Madelin Boyd from Oshawa, Canada was the first-place finisher this weekend. Boyd brought in scores of 74 and 72 for a combined total of 146 for the weekend. Youyang Li from Winter Garden, FL was the runner-up this weekend with scores of 73 and 76 for a combined total of 149. Cala Korman from Killarney, Canada finished top three honors with scores of 73 and 78 for a weekend total of 151.

Boys 10 Under

Juan Lucas Mariatti from Winter Garden, FL was the first-place finisher this weekend. Mariatti brought in scores of 70 and 74 for a combined total of 144 for the weekend. Lucas Lu from Orlando, FL was the runner-up this weekend with scores of 74 and 77 for a combined total of 151. Danilo Custer from North Palm Beach, FL finished top three honors with scores of 78 and 77 for a weekend total of 155.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour
The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 8-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. With play open to both males and females, nearly every junior golfer is eligible to participate on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Currently the HJGT is the largest multi-day junior golf tour in the United States hosting more 2-day nationally ranked events than any other tour. The HJGT has been able to achieve this goal by running the most professional events and providing an exceptional value to all of our players and families over the last 14 years.
Based out of Orlando, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the country. In 2021, the HJGT will conduct events in Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Canada. Juniors will compete in 1 of 6 divisions which are: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys under 10, Girls 14-18, and Girls Under 13. Click here to view approximate yardages for each division.
