From Saturday, April 20 – Sunday, April 21, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Raleigh Junior Open at The Neuse Golf Club in Clayton, NC. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole, two-day format and the field was made from four divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18, and the Justin Rose Division Girls 13 and Under.
Owen Porter of Bethesda, MD was the champion of the Tiger Woods Division, as he finished out the tournament with a two-day total of 169 strokes. Logan Nerad of Charlotte, NC won the silver with 173 strokes. Gareth Ryder of Marlinton, WV rounded out the podium just two strokes shy of the silver.
The top spot in the Will Smith Division went to the one and only Wyatt Seilkop of Suwanee, GA with 163 strokes. The silver medal went to Chase Harris of Pilot Mountain, NC with 169 strokes. Trent Cade of Ocean Isle Beach, NC earned the final spot on the podium with 172 strokes.
Ava O’Sullivan of Exton, PA was the champion of the Justin Timberlake Division, as she finished out the weekend with a competitive 169 strokes.
Jenna Kim of Raleigh, NC did not disappoint this weekend, as she earned the gold in the Justin Rose Division with 166 strokes. Karsyn Roberts of Pikeville, NC earned second with 170 strokes. Just two strokes shy of the silver was Ella June Hannant of Pikeville, NC with 172 strokes.
