Polo Fields Junior Open

From April 24-25, 2021, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Polo Fields Junior Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of five divisions that included the Boys 16-18 Division,  Boys 14-15 Division, Boys 11-13 Division, Girls 14-18 Division, and Girls U13 Division.

Boys 16-18

Polo Fields Junior Open

Benjamin Wulkopf from Louisville, KY was the first place finisher for the weekend. Wulkopf brought in scores of 73 and 74 for a weekend total of 147. Kevin Tobergte from Hebron, KY was the runner up for the weekend. Tobergte finished with scores of 76 and 75 for a weekend total of 151. Luke Daley from Louisville, KY and Gage Mizuguchi from Louisville, KY tied for the top three honors. Daley finished with scores of 79 and 80 and Mizuguchi finished with scores of 83 and 76 for a weekend total of 159.

Jack Besner from Whiteland, IN was the first place finisher for the weekend. Besner finished with scores of 77 and 75 for a weekend total of 152. Sam Guest from Louisville, KY was the runner up for the weekend. Guest finished with scores of 80 and 75 for a weekend total of 155. Samuel Travelstead from Louisville, KY rounded out the top three honors with scores of 80 and 83 for a weekend total of 163.

Will Judd from Louisville, KY was the first place finisher after winning in a playoff. Judd brought in scores of 75 and 79 for a weekend total of 154. Turin Duber from Bardstown, KY was the runner up for the weekend. Duber finished with scores of 79 and 75 for a weekend total of 154. Miles Green from LaGrange, KY, Colt McConnaughy from La Grange, KY, and Eli Wessel from Indianapolis, IN all tied for the top three honors. Green brought in scores of 80 and 78, McConnaughy finished with scores of 83 and 75, and Wessel brought in scores of 78 and 80, all for a weekend total of 158.

Jenna Estravillo from Mount Washington, KY was the first place finisher for the weekend. Estravillo brought in consistent scores of 79 for a weekend total of 158. Grace Strickland from Xenia, OH was the runner up for the weekend, bringing in scores of 80 on both days. Strickland finished the weekend with a final score of 160. Isabella Wiley from Bagdad, KY rounded out the top three honors for the weekend. Wiley finished with scores of 78 and 82 for a weekend total of 161.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 8-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. With play open to both males and females, nearly every junior golfer is eligible to participate on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Currently the HJGT is the largest multi-day junior golf tour in the United States hosting more 2-day nationally ranked events than any other tour. The HJGT has been able to achieve this goal by running the most professional events and providing an exceptional value to all of our players and families over the last 14 years.

Based out of Orlando, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the country. In 2021, the HJGT will conduct events in Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Canada. Juniors will compete in 1 of 6 divisions which are: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys under 10, Girls 14-18, and Girls Under 13. Click here to view approximate yardages for each division. The HJGT season is based on a calendar year and players earn points throughout the season towards year end honors beginning December 31, 2021.
