Pittsburgh Junior Open

From May 9th  to the 10th the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Black Bear Junior Open The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of six divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Bryson DeChambeau Boys 10,  Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18, and Justin Rose Division Girls Under 13.

Boys 16-18

Pittsburgh Junior Open

Ryan Bilby from Follansbee, WV was the first-place finisher this weekend. Bibly brought in scores of 69 and 71 for a combined total of 140 stroke for the weekend. John Aber from Sewickley, PA was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 73 and 72 for a combined total of 145. Adam Lauer from Pittsburgh, PA finished the top three honors with scores of 74 and 72 for a weekend total of 146.

Boys 14-15

Nicholas Turowski from Harrison City, PA was able to seal his victory by ending the weekend with scores of 75 and 84 for a combined total of 159 strokes.  David Fuhrer from Pittsburgh, PA was the runner up with scores of  87 and 75 for a 162 weekend total. Ryan Steigerwald from Mars, PA finished the top three honors with scores of 81 and 91 for a weekend total of 172.

Boys 11-13

Chris Pollak from Aurora, OH was able to seal his victory by ending the weekend with scores of 76 and 75 for a combined total of 151 strokes. Mason Tucker from York, PA was the runner up with consistant scores of 80 for a 160 weekend total. Colton Lusk from Finleyville, PA finished the top three honors with scores of 87 and 84 for a weekend total of 171.

Pittsburgh Junior Open

Nina Busch from Pittsburgh, PA was the top finisher with impressive scores of 86 and 88 for 174 weekend finish. Megan Joyce from Uniontown, PA took home the runner up title with consistant scores of 93 for a weekend total of 186. Quinn Martineau from Naples, FL  rounded out the top three with scores of  98 and 91 on both days giving her a combined total of 189 for the weekend.

Girls U13

Pittsburgh Junior Open

Mya Morgan from Elizabeth, PA was the top finisher for the Justin Rose division with scores of 89 and 77. Her combined total for the weekend was 166 strokes. Bryn Krosse from York, PA was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 133 and 119, a combined total of 252 strokes.

Michael Jordan from Orchard Park, NY was able to seal his victory by ending the weekend with scores of 96 and 100 for a combined total of 196 strokes.  Richard McMullen from Sewickley, PA was the runner up with scores of 100 and 98 for a 198 weekend total.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 8-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. With play open to both males and females, nearly every junior golfer is eligible to participate on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Currently the HJGT is the largest multi-day junior golf tour in the United States hosting more 2-day nationally ranked events than any other tour. The HJGT has been able to achieve this goal by running the most professional events and providing an exceptional value to all of our players and families over the last 14 years.

Based out of Orlando, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the country. In 2021, the HJGT will conduct events in Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Canada. Juniors will compete in 1 of 6 divisions which are: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys under 10, Girls 14-18, and Girls Under 13. Click here to view approximate yardages for each division. The HJGT season is based on a calendar year and players earn points throughout the season towards year end honors beginning December 31, 2021.
