Pittsburgh Junior Open

From October 19th and 20th, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Pittsburgh Junior Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of five divisions, that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13 Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18 and Justin Rose Division girls under 13.

Boys 16-18

Pittsburgh Junior Open

Garnet Manley III , from Lynchburg, VA was the first-place finisher this weekend. Spampinato brought in scores of 70 and 71 for a combined total of 141 for the weekend. Antonio Bodziony from Willoughby,OHwas the runner up for the weekend with scores of 75 and 76 for a combined total of 151.Christian Schreiber from Venetia, PA finished the top three honors with scores of 75 and 79 for a weekend total of 154.

Boys 14-15

Pittsburgh Junior Open

Dominik Cosic fromPainesville, OH was able to seal his victory by ending the weekend with scores of 79 and 78 a combined total of 157. Blake Bertolo, from Gibsonia, PA was the runner up with scores of 81 and 81 for a 162 weekend total. Ryan Steigerwald, from Mars, PA finished the top three honors with scores of 81 and 85 for a weekend total of 166.

Pittsburgh Junior Open

Nicholas Turowski, from Harrison City, PA, was able to seal tbe victory this weekend by ending the weekend with scores of 75 and 74 for a combined total of 149. David Fuhrer from Pittsburgh,PA was able to claim second place with scores of, 75 and 79 for a combined total of 154. Rounding out the top three in this division was, Harrison Martineau from Indiana, PA, shot scores of 74 and 81 for a combined total of 155.

Girls 14-18

Pittsburgh Junior Open

Paige Scott from Butler, PA, was able to claim the top spot for this weekend tournament she shot rounds of 75 and 79 for a combined total of 154. Lily Zhang from Buffalo, NY shot rounds of 85 and 79 for a combined total of 164 to capture the second place spot. Then rounding out the top three in this group Tara Loughran from Pittsburgh, PA she was able to shoot rounds of 81 and 84 for a combined total of 165.

Pittsburgh Junior Open

Gina Milazzo from Greenwood Lake, NY able to claim first place., she shot rounds of 80 and 81 for a combined 161. Mya Morgan from Elizabeth, PA was able to shoot rounds of 82 and 85 for a total combined score of 167.

Boys 10 Under

Pittsburgh Junior Open

Carson Higginbotham from Clarksburg, WV was able to claim the first place this weekend. He went on to shoot a 77 and a 72 for a tournament total of 149. Aaron Didjunas from Mckeesport, PA, claimed second place, with rounds of 84 and 81 for a tournament total of 165. Then rounding out the top three honors in this group was Dexter James he shot rounds of 87 and 83 for a tournament total of 170.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 8-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. With play open to both males and females, nearly every junior golfer is eligible to participate on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Currently the HJGT is the largest multi-day junior golf tour in the United States hosting more 2-day nationally ranked events than any other tour. The HJGT has been able to achieve this goal by running the most professional events and providing an exceptional value to all of our players and families over the last 14 years.

Based out of Orlando, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the country. In 2021, the HJGT will conduct events in Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Canada. Juniors will compete in 1 of 6 divisions which are: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys under 10, Girls 14-18, and Girls Under 13. Click here to view approximate yardages for each division. The HJGT season is based on a calendar year and players earn points throughout the season towards year end honors beginning December 31, 2021.
