Pittsburgh Junior Open #3

On Saturday October 20 – Sunday October 21, 2018 The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Pittsburgh Junior Open #3 at Totteridge Golf Club in Greensburg, PA. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole, two-day format and the field was made from six divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Bryson Dechambeau Division Boys U10, Justin Rose Division Girls U13, and the Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18.

Tiger Woods Boys 16-18

Pittsburgh Junior Open #3

Sabiastian Vida captured the first-place finish at the Pittsburgh Junior Open in the Tiger Woods Boys 16-18 division with a 2-day total of 153 (71-82). With solid play both days, Vida was able to hold off Scott Fitzgerald. Jackson Hoey and Nate Piatt both rounded out the division with the 3rd place finish shooting a 2-day total of 162.

Will Smith Boys 14-15

Pittsburgh Junior Open #3

In the Will Smith Boys 14-15 division, Adam Lauer took home first place this weekend by shooting a 2-day total of 150. Solid play in the second round allowed Lauer to take victory over Chuck Tragesser with a total score of 163. Rounding out the division Anthony Lobb and Scott Jordan for third place tie with a total of 164.

Ernie Els 11-13

Pittsburgh Junior Open #3

Trevor Todd did not disappoint in the Ernie Els boys 11-13 division as he carded rounds of 80-80 to win in his division over David Fuhrer who carded rounds of 83-82 to claim 2nd place. Ryan Steigerwald and Joey Miller each shot a 2-day total of 180 to finish in a tie for 3rd place.

Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18

Pittsburgh Junior Open #3

Lauren Freyvogel ended up with the first-place finish in the Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18 Division by carding a total of 146 (74-72). With consistent rounds, Freyvogel was able to hold off 2nd place finisher Erika Hoover. Rounding out the division was Lauren Barber who shot a 2-day total of 169 to claim a 3rd place finish.

Justin Rose Girls U13

Pittsburgh Junior Open #3

In the Justin Rose Girls U13 division, Lily Zhang took home a first place victory with a two-day total of 164. In second place was Marissa Malosh with a two-day total of 176 (98-78). Rounding out the division was Mya Morgan who took a solo 3rd place finish with a two-day total of 185.

Pittsburgh Junior Open #3

Carson Higginbotham won first place in the Bryson Dechambeau boys U10 division with a total of 147. Holding off Jonah Schollaert giving him a solo second place win with a two-day total of 162. Rounding out the division in 3rd place was Aaron Didjunas with a two day total of 173.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
