On Saturday November 10 – Sunday November 11, 2018 The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Pinehurst Junior Classic presented by Cheney Brothers in Pinehurst, NC. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole, two-day format and the field was made from six divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Bryson Dechambeau Division Boys U10, Justin Rose Division Girls U13, and the Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18. Tiger Woods Boys 16-18

Pinehurst Junior Classic presented by Cheney Brothers

Alex Heffner captured the first-place finish at the Pinehurst Junior Classic in the Tiger Woods Boys 16-18 division with a 2-day total of 154 (77-77). With solid play both days, Heffner was able to hold off 2nd place finisher Victor Vargas by 1 shot.  Rounding out the division are Ihle Majeres and Cade Hancock who finished in a tie for 3rd place with a two-day total of 157.

Will Smith Boys 14-15

Pinehurst Junior Classic presented by Cheney Brothers

In the Will Smith Boys 14-15 division, Nick Kley took home first place this weekend by shooting a 2-day total of 164.  Solid play in the second round allowed Kley to take victory Aidan Harrington who finished second with a 2-day total of 167. Rounding out the division was Gibson Charlton and Andrew Coppin who finished tied in third with a two-day total of 170.

Ernie Els 11-13

Pinehurst Junior Classic presented by Cheney Brothers

Will Hartman did not disappoint in the Ernie Els boys 11-13 division as he carded rounds of 84-74 to win in his division over Julian Dugan who carded rounds of 88-81 to claim 2nd place. Rounding out the division was Jose Fernandez who finished in third with a two-day total of 170.

Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18

Pinehurst Junior Classic presented by Cheney Brothers

Susana Olivares ended up with the first-place finish in the Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18 Division by carding a total of 148 (76-72).  With consistent rounds, Olivares was able to hold off 2nd place finisher Romina Villanueva by 6 shots.  Rounding out the division was Maria Arenas who shot a 2-day total of 158 to claim a 3rd place finish.

Justin Rose Girls U13

Pinehurst Junior Classic presented by Cheney Brothers

Eleanor Parkerson ended up with the first-place finish in the Justin Rose Girls U13 Division by carding a total of 165 (87-78). With consistent rounds, Parkerson was able to hold off 2nd place finisher Karsyn Roberts by 8 shots.  Rounding out the division was Kinsley Smith and Gracie Song who finished in a tie for 3rd place with a two-day total of 177.

Boys 10 Under

Pinehurst Junior Classic presented by Cheney Brothers

In the Bryson Dechambeau Division, John John Santospago took the first-place trophy with a two-day total of 154. Santospago was able to hold off Alex Bundy, who finished in second place with a two-day total of 168.  Rounding out the division was Chase Duncan who claimed the third-place trophy with a two-day total of 170.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
