On Saturday November 10 – Sunday November 11, 2018 The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Phoenix Junior Open in Litchfield Park, AZ. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole, two-day format and the field was made from six divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Bryson Dechambeau Division Boys U10, Justin Rose Division Girls U13, and the Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18. Tiger Woods Boys 16-18
Ross Leveque captured the first-place finish at the Phoenix Junior Open in the Tiger Woods Boys 16-18 division with a 2-day total of 147 (73-74). With solid play both days, Leveque was able to hold off Jonathan Curran and Michael Ordona who finished tied in 2nd place with a two-day total of 149.
Will Smith Boys 14-15
In the Will Smith Boys 14-15 division, Ethan Klose took home first place this weekend with a 2-day total of 148. Solid play in the second round allowed Klose to take victory over Matthew Peesker who finished with a total score of 149. Rounding out the division is Mario Dino who finished in third place with a total of 152.
Ernie Els 11-13
Alec Hilgers did not disappoint in the Ernie Els boys 11-13 division as he carded rounds of 77-79 to win in his division over Dante Vitug who carded rounds of 88-80 to claim 2nd place. Arthur Nash and Aleksander Perak shot a 2-day total of 169 to finish in a tie for 3rd place.
Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18
Madeleine Laux ended up with the first-place finish in the Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18 Division by carding a total of 149 (78-71). With consistent rounds, Laux was able to hold off 2nd place finishers Vani Karimanal and Belle Balkan by 7 shots.
Justin Rose Girls U13
In the Justin Rose Girls U13 division, Hadley Ashton took home a first-place victory with a two-day total of 164. In second place was Lily Huether who finished with a two-day total of 200 (101-99).
Boys 10 Under
Congratulations to Kevin Dai on taking first-place in the Bryson Dechambeau division. with a two-day total of 227.
