On Saturday May 12 – Sunday May 13, 2018 The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Philidelphia Junior Open at Five Ponds Golf Club in Warminster, PA. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole, two-day format and the field was made from six divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Boy U10, Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18, and the Justin Rose Girls U13 Division.

Tiger Woods Boys 16-18

Philadelphia Junior Open

Liam Hart of Holland, PA captured the 1st place finish in the Tiger Woods Boys 16-18 division with a solid two-day total of 143.  Hart shot an opening round 69 to take charge after the first day. He was able to cruise to a 7-shot victory over Karsen rush who finished solo 2nd with a 2-day total of 150. Buddy Hansen rounded out a 3rd place finish with firing a final round 72.

Will Smith Boys 14-15

Philadelphia Junior Open

In the Will Smith Boys 14-15 division Tyler Zimmer of Bryn Mawr PA took home the victory by shooting a 36 hole total of 162 firing rounds of 79 and 83 respectively. He maintained a 3 shot victory over Nicholas Taylor of Newtown, PA who shot rounds of 84-81. Jack Dunsmore of Doylestown finished in 3rd.

Ernie Els 11-13

Philadelphia Junior Open

Nicholas Gross of Downington, PA did not disappoint in the Ernie Els boys 11-13 division as he went on to win his division by firing a final round 76 shooting 38 going our and coming in to win the event by 3 shots over Isaiah Marseille and Derek Gutierrez  who also played solid final round posting scores of 75 and 76 respectively to finish with a tie for second.

Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18

Sophia Mancuso from Jamison, PA ended up with the victory within the Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18 Division in a final round duel where she was able to fire rounds of 75 and 76 to win the division by 2 shots. Julia McLaughlin fired a final round 74 to take second place while Kara Kniezewski and Hartley Zook rounded out the field with shooting respective scores of 78 and 77 to finish in a tie for 3rd.

Justin Rose Girls U13

In the Justin Rose Girls U13 division, Gianna Clemente from Warren, won by 2 shots after firing a 2-day 36-hole total of 153. Gianna shot consistent rounds of 77 and 76 to take champion honors. Amanda Phillips finished 2 shots back with posting scores of 79 and 76. Ellison Lundquist rounded out the division with a 3rd place finish with a 2 day total of 167.

Boys 10 Under

Dylan Kotes of Hopewell Junction, New York did not disappoint in the boys U10 division as he went on to win his division by firing a final round 81 for a two day total of 158. Coming in second place was Dennis Fitzgerald from Sea Girt, New Jersey. Fitzgeralds two day total was 194.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
