PGA National Summer Junior Open

From July 10-11, 2021, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the PGA National Summer Junior Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of six divisions that included the Boys 16-18 Division, Boys 14-15 Division, Boys 11-13 Division, Boys Under 10 Division,  Girls 14-18 Division, and Girls Under 13 Division.

Boys 16-18

PGA National Summer Junior Open

Cristobal E. Sepulveda from Santiago, Chile was the first-place finisher this weekend. Sepulveda brought in scores of 75 and 75 for a combined total of 150 (+6) for the weekend. Tomas Amaya from Singer Island, FL and Piero Rojas from Trujillo, Peru tied for second place. Amaya brought in round score of 77 and 75 for a combined 152 (+8), while Rojas tallied scores of 78 and 74 for a combined score of 152 (+8).

PGA National Summer Junior Open

Mason Tome from West Palm Beach, FL was the first-place finisher this weekend. Tome brought in scores of 72 and 76 for a combined total of 148 (+4) for the weekend. Justin Zullin from Sarasota, FL was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 75 and 74 for a combined total of 149 (+5). Ethan Keen from West Palm Beach, FL finished the top three honors with scores of 85 and 77 for a weekend total of 162 (+18).

Tomas Restrepo Jaramillo from Manizales, Colombia was the first-place finisher this weekend. Restrepo Jaramillo brought in scores of 73 and 69 for a combined total of 142 (-2) for the weekend. Vlad Alexander Bercea from Melbourne, FL was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 72 and 72 for a combined total of 144 (E). Grady Gore from Far Hills, NJ finished the top three honors with scores of 73 and 75 for a weekend total of 148 (+4).

Jia Ying (Jasmin) Lai from Huizhou, China was the first-place finisher this weekend. Lai brought in scores of 79 and 72 for a combined total of 151 (+7) for the weekend. Noelle Jensen from Boca Raton, FL was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 76 and 76 for a combined total of 152 (+8). Montserrat Figueroa Leiva from Las Condes, Chile and Gabriela Mead from Miami, FL tied for third place. Figueroa Leiva brought in scores of 76 and 80 for a combined 156 (+12), while Mead tallied scores of 78 and 78 for a combined score of 156 (+12).

Grace Carter from Jupiter, FL was the first-place finisher this weekend. Carter brought in scores of 74 and 76 for a combined total of 150 (+6) for the weekend. Florencia Cueller from Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia and Constanza Figueroa Leiva from Las Condes, Chile tied for second place. Cueller brought in round scores of 75 and 85 for a combined 160 (+16), while Figueroa Leiva tallied scores of 79 and 81 for a combined score of 160 (+16).

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
