PGA National Junior Open

From April 24-25, 2021, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the PGA National Junior Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of five divisions that included the Boys 16-18 Division,  Boys 14-15 Division, Boys 11-13 Division, Girls 14-18 Division, and Girls U13 Division.

Boys 16-18

PGA National Junior Open

Kiefer Bulau from Aurora, Canada took home the first place honors for the weekend. Bulau finished the weekend with scores of 71 and 74 for a final total of 145. Ethan Irvine from Hamilton, Canada was the runner up for the weekend. Irvine finished with scores of 73 and 74 for a weekend total of 147. Gabriel Palacios from Guatemala rounded out the top three honors with scores of 75 and 73 for a weekend total of 148.

Boys 14-15

PGA National Junior Open

Vijay Kumar from Windermere, FL was the first place finisher for the weekend. Kumar finished with scores of 74 and 77 for a weekend total of 151. Jaime Andre Yzaga from Lima, Peru was the runner up ofr the weekend. Yzaga brought in scores of 78 and 75 for a weekend total of 153. Matteo Galiano from Coral Springs, FL rounded out the top three honors for the weekend. Galiano finished with consistent scores of 79 for a final score of 158.

Boys 11-13

PGA National Junior Open

Jonathan Weinberg from Palm Beach Gardens, FL was the first place finisher for the weekend. Weinberg finished with scores of 72 and 79 for a weekend total of 151. William Bassett from Savannah, GA was the runner up. Bassett brought in scores of 75 and 78 for a weekend total of 153. Nicklaus Downing from Windermere, FL rounded out the top three honors with scores of 80 and 76 for a weekend total of 156.

Girls 14-18

PGA National Junior Open

Jasmine Youn from Guatemala was the first place finisher for the weekend. Youn finished with impressive scores of 71 and 74 for a weekend total of 145. Lydia Lin from Guangzhou, China was the runner up for the weekend. Lin brought in scores of 70 and 76 for a weekend finish of 146. Vanessa Borovilos from Toronto, Canada and Emily Mayne from Kingston, Jamaica tied for the top three honors this weekend. Both Borovilos and Mayne finished with a score of 156.

Girls U13

PGA National Junior Open

Grace Carter from Jupitar, FL was the first place finsher for the weekend. Carter finished with consistent scores of 75 for a weekend total of 150. Emma Mckoan from Naples, FL was the runner up for the weekend. Mckoan finished with scores of 94 and 86 for a weekend total of 180. Roudning out the top three honors was Sienna Eaton from Palm Beach Gardens, FL. Eaton finshed with scores of 107 and 108 for a weekend total of 215.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
