Orlando Junior Open

From February 29th to March 1st, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Orlando Junior Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of five divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18, and Justin Rose Division Girls Under 13.

Boys 16-18

Orlando Junior Open

Johnny Bai from Lake Mary, FL was the first-place finisher this weekend. Bai brought in scores of 75 and 69 for a combined total of 144 for the weekend. Cooper Lindberg from Orlando, FL was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 76 and 74 for a combined total of 150. With the tie for third place, Trey Tesiero from Saint Johns, FL finished the top three honors with scores of 73 and 78 for a weekend total of 151. Aaron Zhang from Lake Mary, FL also finished in third with scores of 73 and 78 for a total of 151.

Boys 14-15

Orlando Junior Open

Justin Bai, from Lake Mary, FL was able to seal his victory by ending the weekend with scores of 77 and 72 for a combined total of 149. With a tie for runner up, Gabriel Zhang from Lake Mary, FL was the runner up with scores of 85 and 77 for a total of 162. Sebastian Navarro from Winter Garden, FL finished up with scores of 83 and 79 for a weekend total of 162.

Orlando Junior Open

Davis Downing from Windermere, FL was the first-place finisher this weekend. Downing brought in scores of 83and 75with a combined score of 158. Jin Quan Wen from Tianjin, China was the second-place finisher with scores of 84 and 75for a total of 159. To round out the top three was Ethan Keen from West Palm Beach, FL. Keen ended the weekend with scores of 87 and 75 for a total of 162.

Girls 14-18

Orlando Junior Open

Leila Raines from Galena, OH was the top finisher with impressive scores of 71 and 73 for a 144 weekend finish. Sophia Bae from Norwood, NJ took home the runner up title with scores of 73 and 72 for a weekend total of 145.  With a tie for third, Viktoria Krnacova from Bradenton, FL rounded out the top three with scores of 74 and 73 a combined total of 147. Elizabeth Kondal from Saint Augustine, FL also finished with scores of 73 and 74 for a total of 147.

Girls U13

Orlando Junior Open

Staci Pla from West Palm Beach, FL was the top finisher for the Justin Rose division with scores of 76 and 79. Her combined total for the weekend was 155 strokes. Helena Ludwig from Germany was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 85 and 84, a combined total of 169 strokes. To round out the top three was Michelle Su from Windermere, FL. Su ended the weekend with scores of 90 and 95 for a total of 185.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 8-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. With play open to both males and females, nearly every junior golfer is eligible to participate on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Currently the HJGT is the largest multi-day junior golf tour in the United States hosting more 2-day nationally ranked events than any other tour. The HJGT has been able to achieve this goal by running the most professional events and providing an exceptional value to all of our players and families over the last 14 years.

Based out of Orlando, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the country. In 2021, the HJGT will conduct events in Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Canada. Juniors will compete in 1 of 6 divisions which are: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys under 10, Girls 14-18, and Girls Under 13. Click here to view approximate yardages for each division. The HJGT season is based on a calendar year and players earn points throughout the season towards year end honors beginning December 31, 2021.
