Orlando Jr. Shootout at Eagle Creek Golf Club

 On Saturday, November 11th and Sunday, November 12, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour was in Palm Harbor to host the Innisbrook Junior Challenge at the beautiful Innisbrook Resort. The players competed during a beautiful weekend in Palm Harbor which made for a good time! The HJGT would like to thank the amazing staff of the Innisbrook Resort for their hospitality and ensuring excellent conditions for the field of play.

Tiger Woods Boys 16-18

Orlando Jr. Shootout at Eagle Creek Golf Club

Matthew Yamin of is the Boys 16-18 champion. Yamin had a 1st round of 72 on Saturday and a 2nd round of 74 on Sunday for a two-day total of 146. Frederik Eisenbeis came in 2nd with a two day total of 147, he had a 1st  round of 77 and 2nd round of 70. 3rd place was given to Ryan Peters who carded a two-day total of 150 (79-71). The players had a great time competing and their close scores made it even more exciting.

Will Smith Boys 14-15

Orlando Jr. Shootout at Eagle Creek Golf Club

Johnny Gruninger of Syracuse, NY is the Boys 14-15 champion. After a 75 on Saturday, Gruninger carded a 79 on Sunday for a two-day total of 154. Aidan Devlin of Morristown, NJ came in 2nd with a two-day total of 156 (77-79). Armand Loscalzo of Tampa, FL and Noah Kumar of Sarasota, FL tied in 3rd place with a two-day total of 158 Armand scored 77 on Saturday and 81on Sunday while Noah carded a 76 on Saturday with an 82 on Sunday.

Ernie Els 11-13

Orlando Jr. Shootout at Eagle Creek Golf Club

Wyatt Plattner of Sarasota, FL is the champion of the Boys 11-13 division. Plattner carded a 71 on Saturday and a 76 on Sunday for a 147 two-day total to claim the title. Zheng Yi (Louie) Liu came in 2nd after finishing with a two-day total of 154 (75-79). 3rd was awarded to Carter Dill who totaled 160 (78-82). This division had great competition and each player can walk away proud of their effort.

Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18

Orlando Jr. Shootout at Eagle Creek Golf Club

Cosette Anderson of Wesley Chapel, FL is the Girls 14-18 champion. Anderson scored a 73 on Saturday, and a 77 on Sunday for a two-day total of 150. Finishing in 2nd from Wesley Chapel, FL was Lisa Marie Rudometkin who posted rounds of 77 both days to finish with a total of 154. 3rd place was awarded to Tiana Cruz of Richmond Hill, Ontario who shot 77 on Saturday and 79 on Sunday for a two-day total of 156. The girls all performed well and enjoyed the competition.

Orlando Jr. Shootout at Eagle Creek Golf Club

Mariana Araujo of Bogota, CU  took home the 1st place trophy for the Girls under 13 division. Araujo ended Saturday with a score of 85 and a Sunday score of 94 for a two-day total of 179. Araujo played alongside the boys U10 division and enjoyed her first tournament in the USA.

Joseph Scott of Lemont, IL is the Boys U10 champion. While Scott was the only player is his division, he played alongside the Girls U13 division both days and enjoyed playing with a competitor his own age.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
