Orlando Jr. Shootout

On Saturday, November 4th and Sunday November 5th the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour was in Orlando to host the Orlando Jr. Shootout at the beautiful Eagle Creek Golf Club. The players competed during a fantastic weekend in Orlando which made for a good time! The HJGT would like to thank the amazing staff of the Eagle Creek Golf Club for their hospitality and ensuring excellent conditions for the field of play.

Tiger Woods Boys 16-18

Orlando Jr. Shootout

Jakob Lemieux of Toronto, Ontario is the Boys 16-18 champion. Lemieux had a 1st round of 68 on Saturday and a 2nd round of 72 on Sunday for a two-day total of 140. Ethan Werblo of Orange City, FL came in 2nd with a two day total of 14. 3rd place was given to Yaroslav Ilyenko who carded a two-day total of 144 (73-71). The players had a great time competing and their close scores made it even more exciting.

Will Smith Boys 14-15

Orlando Jr. Shootout

Ian Lazar Carter Davis of Howey in the Hills, FL is the Boys 14-15 champion. After a 72 on Saturday, Ian carded a 73 on Sunday for a two-day total of 145. Michael Son of Ocoee, FL came in 2nd with a two-day total of 148 (77-71). Luke Bigelow of Sharon, Ontario finished tied in 2nd place with a two-day total of 148 (77-71), along with Alexander Oh who scored a two-day total of 148 as well (72-76).

Orlando Jr. Shootout

John Marshall of Miami, FL is the champion of the Boys 11-13 division. Abdow carded a 69 on Saturday and a 70 on Sunday for a 139 two-day total to claim the title. Sebastiano Mascia came in 2nd after finishing with a two-day total of 142 (73-69). 3rd was awarded to Cooper Claycomb who totaled 146 (71-75). This division had great competition and each player can walk away proud of their effort.

Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18

Orlando Jr. Shootout

Tianyi Zhuang of Windermere, FL is the Girls 14-18 champion. Zhuang scored a 72 on Saturday, and a 74 on Sunday for a two-day total of 146. Finishing in 2nd from Pueblo was Maika Cervantes who posted rounds of 76 and 73 to finish with a total of 149. 3rd place was awarded to Cosette Anderson of Wesley Chapel, FL who shot 77 on Saturday and 72 on Sunday for a two-day total of 149. The girls all performed well and enjoyed the competition.

Justin Rose Girls U13

Orlando Jr. Shootout

Menglu Zhu of Bradenton, FL took home the 1st place trophy for the Girls under 13 division. Zhu ended Saturday with a score of 78 and a Sunday score of 77 for a two-day total of 155. 2nd place was awarded to Madison Moman of Palm Beach Gardens, FL who had a first round score of 83 and a second round score of 85 with a two-day total of 168. Kayla Bryant of Boca Raton, FL came in 3rd with a two-day total of 173 (90-83). The girls all played well together and came away with great scores.

Graden Lomax of Odessa, FL is the Boys U10 champion.While Graden was the only player is his division, he played alongside the Boys 11-13 competitors both days and should be proud of how well he was able to compete with the older boys.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
