Orange County National Summer Junior Open

From July 2-3, 2021, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Orange County National Summer Junior Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of six divisions that included the Boys 16-18 Division, Boys 14-15 Division, Boys 11-13 Division, Boys Under 10 Division,  Girls 14-18 Division, and Girls Under 13 Division.

Diego Santolaya from Windermere, FL was the first-place finisher this weekend. Santolaya brought in scores of 70 and 69 for a combined total of 139 (-5) for the weekend. Cristobal E Sepulveda from Santiago, Chile was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 70 and 71 for a combined total of 141 (-3). Jose Ricardo Aguilar from Winter Garden, FL finished the top three honors with scores of 77 and 74 for a weekend total of 151 (+7).

Erich Fortlage Arce from Asuncion, Paraguay was the first-place finisher this weekend. Fortlage Arce brought in scores of 71 and 71 for a combined total of 142 (-2) for the weekend. Javier Santolaya from Winter Garden, FL was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 75 and 71 for a combined total of 146 (+2). Davis Downing from Windermer, FL finished the top three honors with scores of 72 and 75 for a weekend total of 147 (+3).

Nicklaus Downing from Windermere, FL was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 71 and 73 for a combined total of 144 (E). Ryo Murata from Howey in the Hills, FL and Ethan Nie from Johns Creek, GA tied for third place. Murato and Nie both brought in round scores of 78 and 77 for a combined weekend score of 155 (+11).

Mia Hornberger from Clermont, FL was the first-place finisher this weekend. Hornberger brought in scores of 74 and 73 for a combined total of 147 (+3) for the weekend. Hibiki Adachi from Los Angeles, CA and Ana Maria Jimenez Rios from Merida, Mexico tied for second place. Adachi brought in round scores of 75 and 74 for a combined score of 149 (+5), while Jimenez Rios tallied scores of 77 and 72 to finish the weekend at 149 (+5).

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 8-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. With play open to both males and females, nearly every junior golfer is eligible to participate on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Currently the HJGT is the largest multi-day junior golf tour in the United States hosting more 2-day nationally ranked events than any other tour. The HJGT has been able to achieve this goal by running the most professional events and providing an exceptional value to all of our players and families over the last 14 years.

Based out of Orlando, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the country. In 2021, the HJGT will conduct events in Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Canada. Juniors will compete in 1 of 6 divisions which are: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys under 10, Girls 14-18, and Girls Under 13. Click here to view approximate yardages for each division. The HJGT season is based on a calendar year and players earn points throughout the season towards year end honors beginning December 31, 2021.
