From September 28th to the 29th, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Orange County National Junior Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of five divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18, and Justin Rose Division Girls Under 13.
Boys 16-18

Masatoyo Kato from Bradenton, Florida was the first-place finisher this weekend. Kato brought in scores of 69 and 74 for a combined total of 143 for the weekend. Caden Burr from Windermere, Florida was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 73 and 72 for a combined total of 145. BK Kim from Windermere, Florida finished the top three honors with scores of 74 and 72 for a weekend total of 146.
Boys 14-15

Camden Smith, from Windermere, Florida was able to seal his victory by ending the weekend with scores of 76 and 71 for a combined total of 147. Tony Liu from China as the runner up with scores of 72 and 75 for a 147 weekend total. Richard Han from China finished the top three honors with scores of 70 and 77 for a weekend total of 147.
Boys 11-13

Emil Nielson from Wellesley, Massechusetts was the first-place finisher this weekend. Nielson brought in scores of 73 and 76 with a combined score of 149. Davis Downing from Windermere, Florida was the second-place finisher with scores of 73 and 76 for a total of 149. To round out the top three was Vihaan Reddy from India. Reddy ended the weekend with scores of 78 and 78 for a total of 156.
Girls 14-18

Kiana Briggs from Novato, Califoria was the top finisher with impressive scores of 74 and 72 for a 146 weekend finish. Mckenzie Mages from Marietta, Georgia took home the runner up title with scores of 74 and 72 for a weekend total of 146. Briana Gabe from Melbourn, Florida rounded out the top three with scores of 77 and 71 a combined total of 148.
Girls U13

Dechen Lin from China was the top finisher for the Justin Rose division with scores of 75 and 81. Her combined total for the weekend was 156 strokes. McKenna Murphy from Sanford, Florida was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 79 and 81, a combined total of 160 strokes.

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.
The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
