Orange County National Junior Open #2

On Saturday September 29 – Sunday September 30, 2018 The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Orange County National Junior Open #2 at Orange County National in Winter Garden, FL. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole, two-day format and the field was made from six divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Bryson Dechambeau Division Boys U10, Justin Rose Division Girls U13, and the Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18.

Tiger Woods Boys 16-18

Orange County National Junior Open #2

Johnny Bai of Lake Mary, FL captured the first-place finish at the Orange County National Junior Open in the Tiger Woods Boys 16-18 division with a 2-day total of 135 (67-68). With solid play both days, Bai was able to hold off Pontus Torgner as he carded (71-69) and a 140 total. Rounding out the division was Bo Peng with a total of 141.

Will Smith Boys 14-15

Orange County National Junior Open #2

In the Will Smith Boys 14-15 division, Brian Park outlasted Alex Song in a playoff to claim the first place victory.  Solid play in the second round allowed Park to hold his winning spot over Alex Song, as well as Kenny Nguyen who played a solid game and carded rounds of (75-76) to finish with a total of 151.

Ernie Els 11-13

Orange County National Junior Open #2

Frank Kennedy did not disappoint in the Ernie Els boys 11-13 division as he carded rounds of 71-72 to win in his division over Justin Bai who carded rounds of 75-73 to claim 2nd place. Behind Bai was Chance Rinkol who shot a 2-day total of 149 (75-74) to take a solo 3rd place finish.

Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18

Orange County National Junior Open #2

Mary Ma ended up with the first-place finish in the Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18 Division by carding a total of 151 (76-75). With consistent rounds, Ma was able to hold off 2nd place finisher, Carla Alvarez Perez by 2 shots. Rounding out the division was Annie Zhang and Mackenzie Morrison who shot a 2-day total of 166 to claim tie for the 3rd place finish.

Justin Rose Girls U13

Orange County National Junior Open #2

Congratulations to Sritha Vemuri taking home 1st place in the Girls U13 division with a total score of 162. Hayli Snaer was right behind Vemuri carding (88-85) with a two day total of 173. Rounding out the division was Hannah Hall with a 186 total carding (92-94) to claim a 3rd place solo finish.

Orange County National Junior Open #2

Luke Parsons did not disappoint in the Bryson Dechambeau boys U10 division as he carded rounds of 78-74 to win in his division over Lion Ziao Liu of Ocoee, FL who carded rounds of 80-80 to claim 2nd place. Rounding out the division was Santiago Navarro with a final score of 173.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
