From September 14th to 15th, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Northern Virginia Fall Jr. Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of six divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Bryson DeChambeau Division Boys Under 10, Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18, and Justin Rose Division Girls Under 13.
Jonah Han from Ashburn, Virginia went home as champion this weekend. Han brought in scores of 76 and 75 for a combined total of 151 for the weekend. He tied for most birdies (5) in his division with Garnet Manley III. Manley from Lynchburg, Virginia tied with Shawn Collela from Marcellus, New York, for runner up for the weekend. Manley put up scores of 77and 76 for a combined total of 154. Collella’s scores were also 77 and 76 for a weekend total of 154.
William Weirich, from Swan Point, Maryland was able to seal his victory by ending the weekend with scores of 99 and 81 for a combined total of 180. Nicholas Sheridan from Severna Park, Maryland was tied with Kristian Owen from Fairfax, Virginia for the runner up position. Sheridan end with scores of 92 and 95 for a 187 total. Owen attained scores of 95 and 92 for a weekend total of 187 as well.
Aiden Patel from Ashburn, Virginia was the first-place finisher this weekend. Patel brought in scores of 78 and 83 with a combined score of 161. Carson Looney from Bethesda, Maryland was the second-place finisher with scores of 79 and 87 for a total of 166.
Delaney Adams from Fairfax, Virginia led the girls 14-18 division with scores of 86 on Saturday and Sunday for a total score of 172. She ended her weekend with 3 birdies and 13 bogies. Emily McAninch from Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania took home a very close scoring runner up title. McAninch scored 89 and 88 for a weekend total of 177. Maddy Mcculley from Knoxville, Maryland rounded out the top three with scores of 89 and 90 a combined total of 179.
Leela Kenwood from Bethesda, Maryland was the top finisher for the Justin Rose division with scores of 103 and 101. Her combined total for the weekend was 204 strokes.
Boys 10 Under
Dexter James a newcomer from Hudson, Ohio was the first-place finisher this weekend. James brought in scores of 78 and 85 with a combined score of 163.
