From Saturday, June 22nd through Sunday June 23rd,the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Northern Ohio Jr. Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of four divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18, and the Justin Rose Division Girls 13 and Under.
Aidan Schumer of Columbus, OH took the lead after scoring a 69 on Saturday and remaining at the top of the leaderboard all weekend. Schumer followed up his first round with a 75 on Sunday to win by a one-shot margin .Following him was Aaron Apticar of Canal Fulton, OH with a weekend total of 145 strokes and rounds of 72-73. Rounding up our top-three was Luke Radis of Aurora, OH with a weekend total of 147 shots and an impressive final round 70.
Robert Kimmel of Shaker Heights, OH took the lead after scoring a 74 the first day and remaining at the top of the leaderboard all weekend. Kimmel followed up his first-round with a 78 on Sunday to win by a one-shot margin. Following him was Julian Dugan of Rocky River, OH with a weekend total of 153 strokes and a 71 on Sunday. Rounding up our top-three was Dominik Cosic of Painesville, OH with a weekend total of 159 shots and a two-under 70 on Sunday.
Zo McClain of Erie, PA shot a two-day total of 154 strokes to take home first-place honors with weekend rounds of 79-75 and claim a one-shot victory. Following her was Natalie Brosig of Erie, PA with a weekend total of 155 shots and rounds of 76-79 both days. Rounding up our top-three was Lizzie Bickar of Tallmadge, OH with a weekend total of 159 shots and a final round 78.
Addison Hamann of Avon Lake, OH was our lone competitor for the division with a weekend total of 179 shots. Hamann was able to shoot consistent weekend rounds and claim victory.
