Northern Jersey Junior Open

From October 23-24, 2021, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Northern Jersey Junior Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of  six divisions that included the Boys 16-18 Division, Boys 14-15 Division, Boys Under 10 Division, and Girls 14-18 Division.

Boys 16-18

Northern Jersey Junior Open

Eli Ropietski from Harveys Lake, Pa was the first-place finisher this weekend after a playoff win against Kevin “Trey” Smith from Greenville, NY. Ropietski brought in scores of 77 and 67 for a combined total of 144 for the weekend. Smith finished with scores of 76 and 68 for a weekend total of 144. Charles Ferrise from Pheonixville, PA and Nathan Tallinder from Madison, NJ tied for the top three honors. Ferrise finished with scores of 72 and 78 for a weekend total of 150. Tallinder also finished with a weekend total of 150 with scores of 76 and 74.

Northern Jersey Junior Open

Cael Ropietski from Harveys Lake, PA was the first-place finisher this weekend. Ropietski brought in scores of 70 and 68 for a combined total of 138 for the weekend. Matthew LU fron Basking Ridge, NJ was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 78 and 74 for a combined total of 152. Ethan Weinberg from Marlboro, NJ finished the top three honors with scores of 81 and 74 for a weekend total of 155.

Tong Si from Millburn, NJ was the first-place finisher this weekend. Si brought in scores of 72 and 74 for a combined total of 146 for the weekend. Asher Katz from Ridgefield, CT was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 74 and 73 for a combined total of 147. Joseph Bueme Jr. from Buffalo, NY finished the top three honors with scores of 75 and 74 for a weekend total of 149.

Emily Renoff from Glen Ridge, NJ was the first-place finisher this weekend. Renoff brought in scores of 75 and 73 for a combined total of 148 for the weekend. Serena Bagga from Blue Bell, PA was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 79 and 77 for a combined total of 156. Natalie Spiska from Jersey City, NJ finished the top three honors with scores of 78 and 81 for a weekend total of 159.

Hayden Knapp from Gansevoort, NY was the first-place finisher this weekend. Knapp brought in scores of 79 and 77 for a combined total of 156 for the weekend. Reese Fishman from Franklin Lakes, NJ was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 79 and 82 for a combined total of 161. Alexandra Young from Woodstock, NY finished the top three honors with scores of 85 and 89 for a weekend total of 174.

Neil Kanwar from New York, NY finished the top three honors with scores of 103 and 96 for a combined total of 199.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 8-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. With play open to both males and females, nearly every junior golfer is eligible to participate on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Currently the HJGT is the largest multi-day junior golf tour in the United States hosting more 2-day nationally ranked events than any other tour. The HJGT has been able to achieve this goal by running the most professional events and providing an exceptional value to all of our players and families over the last 14 years.

Based out of Orlando, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the country. In 2021, the HJGT will conduct events in Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Canada. Juniors will compete in 1 of 6 divisions which are: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys under 10, Girls 14-18, and Girls Under 13. Click here to view approximate yardages for each division. The HJGT season is based on a calendar year and players earn points throughout the season towards year end honors beginning December 31, 2021.
