North Jersey Summer Junior Open

From June 23-24, 2021, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the North Jersey Summer Junior Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of six divisions that included the Boys 16-18 Division, Boys 14-15 Division, Boys 11-13 Division, Boys Under 10 Division,  Girls 14-18 Division, and Girls Under 13 Division.

Boys 16-18

North Jersey Summer Junior Open

Liam Krey from River Edge, NJ was the first-place finisher this weekend. Krey brought in scores of 72 and 72 for a combined total of 144 (+2) for the weekend. Francis Andre Lanuza from Muntinlupa, Phillippines, Benjamin Ortwein from Easton, PA, and Arav Tank from Woodcliff Lake, NJ all tied for second place with a score of 150 (+8). Lanuza and Ortwein both brought in round scores of 76 and 74, while Tank tallied scores of 79 and 71.

Boys 14-15

North Jersey Summer Junior Open

Eli Kaufman from Montville, NJ won in a playoff to secure first place this weekend.  Kaufman brought in scores of 87 and 81 for a combined total of 168 (+26) for the weekend. Reid Walter from Cold Spring Harbor, NY was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 84 and 84 for a combined total of 168 (+26). AJ Molner from Jamison, PA finished the top three honors with scores of 89 and 92 for a weekend total of 181 (+39).

Boys 11-13

North Jersey Summer Junior Open

Tong Si from Millburn, NJ was the first-place finisher this weekend. Si brought in scores of 75 and 75 for a combined total of 150 (+8) for the weekend. Axel Brandes from Bernardsville, NJ and Colin McAskin from New York, NY tied for second place. Brandes brought in round scores of 80 and 78 for a combined score of 158 (+16), while McAskin tallied scores of 83 and 75 for a combined score of 158 (+16).

Emma Reilly from Doylestown, PA was the first-place finisher this weekend. Reilly brought in scores of 75 and 80 for a combined total of 155 (+13) for the weekend. Gina Milazzo from Greenwood Lake, NY was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 81 and 79 for a combined total of 160 (+18). Sydeny Dweck from Darien, CT finished the top three honors with scores of 90 and 83 for a weekend total of 173 (+31).

Veronika Niklin from Brooklyn, NY was the first-place finisher this weekend. Niklin brought in scores of 107 and 87 for a combined total of 194 (+52) for the weekend. Prisha Pandey from Edison, NJ was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 109 and 101 for a combined total of 210 (+68).

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 8-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. With play open to both males and females, nearly every junior golfer is eligible to participate on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Currently the HJGT is the largest multi-day junior golf tour in the United States hosting more 2-day nationally ranked events than any other tour. The HJGT has been able to achieve this goal by running the most professional events and providing an exceptional value to all of our players and families over the last 14 years.

Based out of Orlando, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the country. In 2021, the HJGT will conduct events in Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Canada. Juniors will compete in 1 of 6 divisions which are: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys under 10, Girls 14-18, and Girls Under 13. Click here to view approximate yardages for each division. The HJGT season is based on a calendar year and players earn points throughout the season towards year end honors beginning December 31, 2021.
