North Jersey Junior Open

From April 10-11, 2021, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Knoxville Spring Junior Open . The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of six divisions that included the Boys 16-18 Division, Boys 14-15 Division, Boys 11-13 Division, and Girls 14-18 Division.

Boys 16-18

North Jersey Junior Open

Jack Ross from Medford Lakes, NJ was the first place finisher for the weekend. Ross finished with scores of 71 and 72 for a weekend total of 143. Mario Ventresca III from Blue Bell, PA was the runner up for the weekend. Ventresca finished with scores of 77 and 71 for a weekend total of 148. Alexander Feraco from Furlong, PA rounded out the top three honors. Feraco brought in scores of 71 and 78 for a 149 weekend finish.

North Jersey Junior Open

Bryan Zhao from Jericho, NY took home the first place honors after winning a playoff hole against Matthew DiFiore. Zhao brought in scores of 71 and 75 for a weekend total of 146. Matthew DiFiore from Malverne, NY was the runner up on the weekend. DiFiore finished with scores of 68 and 78 for a weekend total of 146. Mark Yan from Newburgh, NY rounded out the top three honors with scores of 72 and 78 for a weekend total of 150.

North Jersey Junior Open

Tong Si from Millburn, NJ was the first place finisher for the weekend. Si brought in scores of 69 and 77 for a weekend total of 146. Leon Bui from New York, NY and Ken Fernandes from Chappaqua, NY tied for the runner up honors for the weekend. Both Bui and Fernandes brought in scores of 70 and 78 for a weekend total of 148.

Kavya Ajjarapu from Tampa, FL was the first place finisher for the weekend. Ajjarapu finished with scores of 71 and 76 for a weekend total of 147. Sydney Kuo from Edison, NJ was the runner up for the weekend. Kuo brought in scores of 70 and 79 for a weekend total of 149. Srishti Dhurandhar from Livingston, NJ rounded out the top three honors with scores of 72 and 79, a 151 weekend finish.

Sady Shafie from Laytonsville, MD was the first place finisher for the weekend. Shafie brought in scores of 83 and 89 for a weekend total of 172. Isabella Crespo from Paramus, NJ and Alana Flores from Paramus, NJ tied for the runner up honors. Crespo brought in scores of 88 and 87 for a weekend total of 175. Flores brought in scores of 82 and 93 for a weekend total of 175.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 8-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. With play open to both males and females, nearly every junior golfer is eligible to participate on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Currently the HJGT is the largest multi-day junior golf tour in the United States hosting more 2-day nationally ranked events than any other tour. The HJGT has been able to achieve this goal by running the most professional events and providing an exceptional value to all of our players and families over the last 14 years.

Based out of Orlando, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the country. In 2021, the HJGT will conduct events in Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Canada. Juniors will compete in 1 of 6 divisions which are: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys under 10, Girls 14-18, and Girls Under 13. Click here to view approximate yardages for each division. The HJGT season is based on a calendar year and players earn points throughout the season towards year end honors beginning December 31, 2021.
