North Jersey Fall Junior Open

From October 30-31, 2021, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the New Jersey Fall Junior Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of five divisions that included the Boys 16-18 Division, Boys 14-15 Division, Boys 11-13 Division, Boys Under 10 Division, and Girls 14-18 Division.

North Jersey Fall Junior Open

Jake Portugal from Ridgefield, CT was the first-place finisher this weekend. Portugal brought in scores of 70 and 74 for a weekend total of 144. Noah Moelter from Doylestown, PA and Mohit Sanagavarapu from Edison, NJ tied for the runner up this weekend. Moelter brought in scores of 71 and 74 for a total of 145. Sanagavarapu finished with scores of 70 and 75 for a combined weekend total of 145.

Eli Kaufman from Montville, NJ was the first-place finisher this weekend. Kaufman brought in scores of 78 and 70 for a weekend total of 148. Mihir Roperia from Cranbury, NJ was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 72 and 77 for a total of 149. Matthew Lu from Basking Ridge, NJ finished the top three honors with scores of 78 and 76 for a combined total of 154.

Tong Si from Millburn, NJ was the first-place finisher this weekend. Si brought in scores of 75 and 72 for a weekend total of 147. Rayhao Feng from Short Hills, NJ was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 78 and 80 for a total of 158. Eric Kim from Tenafly, NJ finished the top three honors with scores of 83 and 76 for a weekend total of 159.

Mary Korab from Florham Park, NJ finished the top three honors with scores of 86 and 81 for a combined total of 167.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 8-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. With play open to both males and females, nearly every junior golfer is eligible to participate on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Currently the HJGT is the largest multi-day junior golf tour in the United States hosting more 2-day nationally ranked events than any other tour. The HJGT has been able to achieve this goal by running the most professional events and providing an exceptional value to all of our players and families over the last 14 years.

Based out of Orlando, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the country. In 2021, the HJGT will conduct events in Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Canada. Juniors will compete in 1 of 6 divisions which are: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys under 10, Girls 14-18, and Girls Under 13. Click here to view approximate yardages for each division. The HJGT season is based on a calendar year and players earn points throughout the season towards year end honors beginning December 31, 2021.
