From Saturday, May 4 – Sunday, May 5, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the North Georgia Junior Open at Woodmont Golf & Country Club in Canton, GA. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole, two-day format and the field was made from all six divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Bryson DeChambeau Boys 10 and Under, Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18, and the Justin Rose Division Girls 13 and Under.

Tiger Woods Boys 16-18

North Georgia Junior Open

Mason Dean of Duluth, GA played consistently throughout the weekend, by shooting a 71 the first round and a 72 the second round. This caused him to become the champion of the Tiger Woods Division. Ethan Shim of Alpharetta, GA and Christopher Pieper of Woodbury, CT rounded out the podium as they finished with 150 and 152 strokes respectively.

Will Smith Boys 14-15

North Georgia Junior Open

Garrett Armbrust of Woodstock, GA captured the gold in the Will Smith Division as he finished with a grand 155 strokes. Dalton Burts of Peachtree Corners, GA earned second with 161 strokes. Just two strokes behind him fell third place winner Wade Watson of Peachtree Corners, GA.

Ernie Els 11-13

North Georgia Junior Open

The one and only Ethan Coffield captured the first-place title in the Ernie Els Division as he finished out the two-day tournament with 153 strokes. Taiki Miyagi of Johns Creek, GA earned the silver with 159 strokes. Rounding out the Ernie Els Division was Jake Dalton of Gillsville, GA with 167 strokes.

Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18

North Georgia Junior Open

The top spot on the podium in the Justin Timberlake Division went to Sierra Fink of Canton, GA. She finished out the weekend with 155 strokes. It was a close race for the silver, as there was a tie for second. Jada Richardson of Suwanee, GA and Kennedy Arnette of Cumming, GA finished with 167 strokes each.

Justin Rose Girls U13

North Georgia Junior Open

Kate Ha of Auburn, AL was on her game over the weekend, as she finished with 153 strokes. This caused her to become to champion of the Justin Rose Division. Behind her was second-place finisher Camryn Coffield of Hamilton, GA with 161 strokes. The bronze went to Kylee Lynn of Auburn, AL with 172 strokes.

The Bryson DeChambeau Division was no match for Cooper Smith of Jasper, GA. He finished out the tournament with 165 strokes.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
