From February 8th through the 9th, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the North Florida Junior Open Presented by Oncore Golf. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of six divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Bryson DeChambeau Division Boys Under 10, Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18, and Justin Rose Division Girls Under 13.
Boys 16-18

Tommy Lamb from Cary, NC was the first-place finisher this weekend. Lamb brought in scores of 71 and 74 for a combined total of 145 for the weekend. Drew Hurley from Wesley Chapel, FL was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 74 and 73 for a combined total of 147. Tynan Jones from Skaneateles, NY finished the top three honors with scores of 76 and 72 for a weekend total of 148.
Boys 14-15

Zach Zhang, from Yunnan, China was able to seal his victory by ending the weekend with scores of 72 and 76 for a combined total of 148. Thomas Ford from Hilton Head, SC was the runner up with scores of 78 and 77 for a 155. Andrew Davis from Fleming Island, FL finished the top three honors with scores of 82 and 77 for a weekend total of 159.
Boys 11-13

Adam “AJ” Hovermale Jr. from Lakewood Ranch, FL was the first-place finisher this weekend. Hovermale brought in consistant scores of 81 with a combined score of 162. Abhay Sandhu from Surrey, Canada was the second-place finisher with scores of 85 and 86 for a total of 171. To round out the top three was Chrispope Abhiteachapan from Bangkok, Thailand. Abhiteachapan ended the weekend with scores of 88 and 86 for a total of 174.
Girls 14-18

Elizabeth Kondal from St. Augustine, FLwas the top finisher with impressive scores of 70 and 74 for a 144 weekend finish. Lauren Thompson from Midland City, AL took home the runner up title with scores of 70 and 78 for a weekend total of 148. Theresa Quasdorf from Hamburg, Germany rounded out the top three with scores of 75 and 76 a combined total of 151.
Girls U13

Laila McNair from Ponte Verda Beach, FL was the top finisher for the Justin Rose division with scores of 84 and 99. Her combined total for the weekend was 183 strokes. Sadaly Campbell from Fernandina Beach, FL was the runner up for the weekend with consistant scores of 93, a combined total of 186 strokes. To round our the top three honors was Robbin Zetrouer from Bluffton, SC. Zetrouer had scores of 95 and 102 a combined total of 197 strokes.
Boys 10 Under

Austin Hovermale from Lakewood Ranch, FL was the top finisher with impressive scores of 111 and 104 for a 215 weekend finish.

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.
The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
