New York Summer Junior Open

From August 15-16, 2020, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the New York Summer Junior Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of five divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18 and Justin Rose Division Girl U13.

New York Summer Junior Open

Charles Smilovic from Greenwich, CT was the first-place finisher this weekend. Smilovic brought in scores of 72 and 78 for a combined total of 150 for the weekend. Alexander Cox from Cresskill, NJ was the runner up this weekend. Cox brought in scores of 77 and 76 for a combined total of 153. Richard Russekoff from Greenwhich, CT and Makena Kraus from Mahopac, NY tied for the third-place finisher this weekend. Russekoff brought in scores of 81 and 74 for a combined total of 155. Kraus brought in scores of 79 and 76 for a combined total of 155.

New York Summer Junior Open

Harrison Browne from Westport, CT was the first-place finisher this weekend. Browne brought in scores of 75 and 76 for a combined total of 151 for the weekend. Fritz Smith from Greenwich, CT was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 82 and 76 for a combined total of 158. Tyler Vitolo from Greenwich, CT took home the third place honors this weekend. Vitolo brought in scores of 81 and 78 for a combined total of 159.

Harry Cohen from Wyckoff, NJ was the first-place finisher this weekend. Cohen brought in scores of 75 and 79 for a combined total of 154 for the weekend. Jack Chung from Greenwich, CT and Ryan Klarreich from Allendale, NJ tied for the runner up for this weekend. Chung brought in scores of 77 and 80 for a total of 157. Klarreich brought in scores of 79 and 78 for a weekend total of 157.

Gianna Papa from Foster, RI was the first-place finisher this weekend. Papa brought in scores of 73 and 76 for a combined total of 149 for the weekend. Marisa Flores from Paramus, NJ, Ava Minisolo from Granite Springs, NY, and Emily Gresham from Binghamton, NY all tied for the runner up for the weekend.  Flores brought in scores of 84 and 79 for a total of 163. Minisolo brought in scores of 83 and 80 for a total of 163 and Gresham brought in scores of 79 and 84 for a total of 163 for the weekend.

Renna Chang from Jericho, NY was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 74 and 80 for a combined total of 154. Vincenza “Vinny” Papa from Foster, RI finished the top three honors with consistent scores of 143 and 109 for a weekend total of 252.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
