New York Summer Junior Open

From August 17thand 18th, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Doral Junior Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of six divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Bryson DeChambeau Division Boys 10 and Under, Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18 and Justin Rose Division Girls 13 and Under.

Tiger Woods Boys 16-18

New York Summer Junior Open

Nick Puleo from New Paltz, NY was the first-place finisher this weekend. Puleo brought in scores of 79 and 78 for a combined 157 to take home the victory. Charles Smilovic from Greenwich, CT and Devin Littler from Poughquag, NY tied for the runner up honors. Smilovic shot an 81 and 79 for a combined 160. Littler shot an 82 and 78 for a combined 160.

Will Smith Boys 14-15

New York Summer Junior Open

Tyler Clark from West Babylon, NY was able to seal his victory ending the weekend with scores of 76 and 83 a combined total of 159. Tyler Vitolo from Greenwich, CT took home the runner up title with scores of 85 and 84 for a combined total of 169. To round out our top three, there was tie. Arjun Jayant from New York, NY and Andrew Flynn from Monroe, CT both finished with a 177. Jayant finished his weekend with scores of 87 and 90. Flynn brought in scores of 92 and 85.

Ernie Els 11-13

New York Summer Junior Open

Alexander Weinberg from New York, NY took home the first-place honors with scores of 81 and 79 for a combined total of 160. Angad Mnaise from Stamford, CT was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 83 and 78 for a weekend total of 161. Rounding out the top three was Jack Estrella with scores of 86 and 76 for a total of 162.

Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18

New York Summer Junior Open

Amber Pennington from Accord, NY was the top finisher with consistent scores of 80 for a 160 weekend finish. Isabella Diaz from Ballston Spa, NY took home the runner up title with scores of 83 and 81 for a weekend total of 164. To round out our top three was Schuyler Lorette from East Greenbush, NY. Lorette shot a 167 a combined total of 82 and 85 over the two days.

Justin Rose Girls U13

New York Summer Junior Open

Isabella Salerno from Rye, NY took home the first-place honors with a total of 161 over the past two days. Salerno brought in scores of 80 and 81. Runner up, Isabel Brozena scored a 170 for the weekend. Jiang brought in scores of 90 and 80. Rounding out our top three was Renna Chang and Rayee B. Feng who tied with scores of 175.

Boys 10 Under

New York Summer Junior Open

Asher Katz from Ridgefield, CT was the first-place finisher with a consistent score of 83 through the entire weekend. Katz was able to take home his victory by one stroke. Rayhao Feng from Short Hills, NJ came close with a runner up finish of 167.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
