New York Fall Junior Open

On Saturday September 8 – Sunday September 9, 2018 The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the New York Fall Junior Open at The Golf Club at Blue Heron Hills in Macedon, NY. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole, two-day format and the field was made from five divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Justin Rose Division Girls U13 and the JustinTimberlake Division Girls 14-18.

Tiger Woods Boys 16-18

New York Fall Junior Open

Jeremy Summerson of Victor, NY captured the first-place finish at the New York Junior Open in the Tiger Woods Boys 16-18 division with a 2-day total of 153 (80-73). With solid play both days, Summerson was able to hold off Ian Wagner by 3 shots. Tyler Thomas from Corning, NY rounded out the division with the 3rd place finish shooting a 2-day total of 160 (80-80).

Will Smith Boys 14-15

New York Fall Junior Open

In the Will Smith Boys 14-15 division Philip Minnehan of Rochester, NY took home first place this weekend in shooting a 2-day total of 157. Solid play in the second round allowed Minnehan to take victory over Joey Maher who finished second with a 2-day total of 158. Rounding out the division was Charlie Fischer of Orchard Park, NY who finished 2 shots behind Maher claim a 3rd place finish.

Ernie Els 11-13

New York Fall Junior Open

Nishant Lahiri did not disappoint in the Ernie Els boys 11-13 division as he carded rounds of 87-83 to win in his division over Matthew Carpentier of Pittsford,NY who carded rounds of 86-94 to claim 2ndplace.

Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18

New York Fall Junior Open

Emily Kase ended up with the first-place finish in the Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18 Division by carding a total of 164 (83-71). With consistent rounds, Kase was able to hold off Claire Yioulos of Honeoye Falls, NY by 9 shots and claiming 2nd place. Rounding out the division was Emily Gresham who shot a 2-day total of 177 to claim a 3rd place finish.

Justin Rose Girls U13

New York Fall Junior Open

Lily Zhang ended up with the first-place finish in the Justin Rose Girls U13 Division by carding a total of 168 (85-83). With consistent rounds, Zhang was able to hold off Lindsay McGrath of Oakville, ON by 11 shots and claiming 2nd place. Rounding out the division was Julia Zigrossi who shot a 2-day total of 178 to claim a 3rd place finish.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
