New York City Jr. Open presented by Kelley Brooke

From Saturday July 6th through Sunday July 7th, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the NYC Junior Open Presented by Kelley Brooke. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of six divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Bryson DeChambeau Division Boys 10 and Under, Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18, and the Justin Rose Division Girls 13 and Under.

Tiger Woods Boys 16-18

New York City Jr. Open presented by Kelley Brooke

Jack Cooley of Philadelphia, PA took the lead after scoring a 73 on Saturday. Cooley climbed to the top of the leaderboard on Sunday, with rounds of 73 both days to win by a margin of 3 strokes. Elliot Zinser of Clover, SC finished in second place with rounds of 75 and 74 alongside with a weekend total of 149 strokes. And rounding up the top three was Joseph Polverino of Chatham, NJ with a weekend total of 153 shots and a 74 on Sunday.

Will Smith Boys 14-15

New York City Jr. Open presented by Kelley Brooke

Alan Zhou of China was able to seal his victory with rounds of 79 and 77 over the weekend, making 3 birdies the last day to finish at a two-day total of 156 strokes. Colin Elias of Staten Island, NY claimed runner-up honors with a weekend day total of 157 with consistent weekend rounds. Rounding up the top three was Andrew Zhao of Jericho, NY with a weekend total of 161 strokes for third place honors.

Ernie Els 11-13

New York City Jr. Open presented by Kelley Brooke

Matthew DiFiore of Malverne, NY was able to seal his victory with a final round of 74. DiFiore made 2 birdies the last day to win by a 6-shot margin over his closest competitor. Joseph Dolezal of Old Westbury, NY shot a weekend total of 155 shots and claimed solo runner-up honors. Rounding up our top-three was Bryan Zhao of Jericho, NY  with a weekend total of 156 strokes and claim solo third-place honors.

Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18

New York City Jr. Open presented by Kelley Brooke

Mia Sessa of Augusta, GA was able to seal her victory with a final round of 73. Sessa made an eagle and 2 birdies the last day to win by a 5-shot margin over her closest competitor. Amber Pennington of Accord, NY shot a weekend total of 154 shots and claimed solo runner-up honors with consistent rounds of 77 over the weekend. Rounding up our top-three was Eden Richmond of Princeton, NJ with a weekend total of 158 strokes and claim solo third-place honors.

Justin Rose Girls U13

New York City Jr. Open presented by Kelley Brooke

Rayee B. Feng of Short Hills, NJ shot a weekend total of 153 shots and a final round of 75 to claim victory. Feng was able to win by a 4-shot margin over her closest competitor. Following her was Victoria Guerrero of New Hyde Park, NY with a weekend total of 157 shots to finish with solo runner-up honors. And rounding up our top-three was Renna Chang of Jericho, NY with a weekend total of 166 shots and take solo third-place honors.

Zachary Berger of Remsenburg, NY was able to seal his victory with rounds of 84 and 76, making 3 birdies the last day to finish at a two-day total of 160 strokes. Rayhao Feng of Short Hills, NJ claimed runner-up honors with a weekend day total of 166 and consistent weekend rounds. Rounding up our top-three was Ryan Sun of Morganville, NJ with a weekend total of 176 to claim third-place honors.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
