New Jersey Summer Junior Open

From June 19-20, 2021, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the New Jersey Summer Junior Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of six divisions that included the Boys 16-18 Division, Boys 14-15 Division, Boys 11-13 Division, Boys Under 10 Division,  Girls 14-18 Division, and Girls Under 13 Division.

Boys 16-18

New Jersey Summer Junior Open

Jack Tarzy from Meford, NJ won in a playoff to secure a first-place victory this weekend. Tarzy brought in scores of 71 and 79 for a combined total of 150 (+8) for the weekend. Robert Dominy from Moorestown, NJ was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 77 and 73 for a combined total of 150 (+8). Mario Ventresca III finished the top three honors with scores of 78 and 73 for a weekend total of 151 (+9).

Boys 14-15

New Jersey Summer Junior Open

Jack Dare from Moorestown, NJ was the first-place finisher this weekend. Dare brought in scores of 79 and 83 for a combined total of 162 (+20) for the weekend. William Kramer from Summit, NJ and Kasim Narinesingh-Smith from Kennett Square, PA tied for second-place. Kramer brought in scores of 85 and 86 for a combined score of 171 (+29), while Narinesingh-Smith tallied scores of 87 and 84 for a combined score of 171 (+29).

Matthew DelPizzo from Vienna, VA was the first-place finisher this weekend. DelPizzo brought in scores of 74 and 82 for a combined total of 156 (+14) for the weekend. Colby Baran from Wading River, NY was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 81 and 78 for a combined total of 159 (+17). Daniel Herzchel from Linwood, NJ and Ian Larsen from Glenmoore, PA tied for third-place. Herzchel brought in scores of 81 and 81 for a combined 162 (+20), while Larsen tallied scores of 77 and 85 for a combined 162 (+20).

Emma Reilly from Doylestown, PA was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 81 and 81 for a combined total of 162 (+20). Ava Chon from Princeton Juntion, NJ finished the top three honors with scores of 83 and 87 for a weekend total of 170 (+28).

Eleanor Lim from Englewood Cliffs, NJ finished the top three honors with scores of 1-3 and 96 for a weekend total of 199 (+57).

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 8-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. With play open to both males and females, nearly every junior golfer is eligible to participate on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Currently the HJGT is the largest multi-day junior golf tour in the United States hosting more 2-day nationally ranked events than any other tour. The HJGT has been able to achieve this goal by running the most professional events and providing an exceptional value to all of our players and families over the last 14 years.

Based out of Orlando, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the country. In 2021, the HJGT will conduct events in Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Canada. Juniors will compete in 1 of 6 divisions which are: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys under 10, Girls 14-18, and Girls Under 13. Click here to view approximate yardages for each division. The HJGT season is based on a calendar year and players earn points throughout the season towards year end honors beginning December 31, 2021.
