New Jersey Spring Junior Open

From Saturday, April 27 – Sunday, April 28, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the New Jersey Spring Junior Open at Hopewell Valley Golf Club in Hopewell, NJ. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole, two-day format and the field was made from five divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18, and the Justin Rose Division Girls 13 and Under.

New Jersey Spring Junior Open

The gold medal in the Tiger Woods Division went to Will Tormey of Bronxville, NY, as he finished with 150 strokes. The second-place finisher was Nicholas Hano of Warrington, PA as he finished just four strokes behind him. Nicholas Taylor of Newtown, PA and Zachary Loninger of Crosswicks, NJ tied for third place, as they finished just four strokes behind second.

Will Smith Boys 14-15

New Jersey Spring Junior Open

The competition was fierce in the Will Smith Division, but Aiden LeBlanc of Macungie, PA ended up on top with a grand 158 strokes at the end of the weekend. Jack Tarzy of Medford, NJ finished just one stroke behind him to capture second. John Keba of Emmaus, PA rounded out the division with 166 strokes.

Ernie Els 11-13

New Jersey Spring Junior Open

Jack Yearley of Wayne, PA captured the gold medal in the Ernie Els Division this weekend as he finished with 164 strokes. Reed Krosse of York, PA earned the silver with 199 strokes.

Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18

New Jersey Spring Junior Open

Gold medalist Sarah Scarpill of Warrington, PA was on her game this weekend, as she won the Justin Timberlake Division by two strokes. Olivia Patrow of East Stroudsburg, PA earned second-place with 164 strokes. Ellison Lundquist of Furlong, PA rounded out the podium with 169 strokes.

6The champion of the Justin Rose Division was the one and only Rayee B. Feng Short Hills, NJ. She finished out the weekend consistently, as she ended the first round with 85 strokes and the second round with 87. Just four strokes behind her was silver medalist Ava Choi of Edison, NJ.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
