New England Junior Open

From May 21-22, 2022, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the New England Junior Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of five divisions that included the Boys 16-18 Division, Boys 24-15 Division, Boys 11-13 Division, Boys Under 10 Division, and Girls 14-18 Division.

Boys 16-18

New England Junior Open

Jeff Babineau, from Billerica, Maryland was the first-place finisher this weekend. Babineau brought in scores of 71 and 83 for a combined total of 154 for the weekend. Tony Novack from Middleton, Maryland, and Luke Schaal from Milton, Maryland tied for the runner-up this weekend with scores of 75 and 82, and 78 and 79, respectively, for a total of 143 each.

Maddox Ketelaar from Windham, New Hampshire was the first-place finisher this weekend. Ketelaar brought in scores of 80 and 77 for a combined total of 157 for the weekend. Andrew Marcotte from Hanover, Maryland was the runner-up this weekend with scores of 82 and 81 for a combined total of 163. Jack Hadges from North Easton, Maryland finished with top three honors with scores of 83 and 85 for a weekend total of 168.

Katherine Ng from Wellesley, Maryland was the first-place finisher this weekend. Ng brought in scores of 91 and 81 for a combined total of 172 for the weekend. Sophie Lim from Boston, Maryland was the runner-up for this weekend with scores of 87 and 87 for a combined total of 174. Anna Gardner from Weston, Maryland finished the top three honors with scores of 88 and 100 for a weekend total of 188.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 8-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. With play open to both males and females, nearly every junior golfer is eligible to participate on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Currently the HJGT is the largest multi-day junior golf tour in the United States hosting more 2-day nationally ranked events than any other tour. The HJGT has been able to achieve this goal by running the most professional events and providing an exceptional value to all of our players and families over the last 14 years.

Based out of Orlando, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the country. In 2021, the HJGT will conduct events in Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Canada. Juniors will compete in 1 of 6 divisions which are: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys under 10, Girls 14-18, and Girls Under 13. Click here to view approximate yardages for each division. The HJGT season is based on a calendar year and players earn points throughout the season towards year end honors beginning December 31, 2021.
