Nashville Junior Open

From May 22-23, 2021 the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Nashville Junior Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of five divisions that included the Boys 14-15 Division, Boys 11-13 Division, Boys Under 10 Division,  Girls 14-18 Division, and Girls Under 13 Division.

Noah Lim from Gallatin, Tennessee won in a playoff to secure  the first-place spot this weekend. Lim brought in scores of 81 and 75 for a combined total of 156 (+12) for the weekend. Carter Stroup from Greenbrier, Tennessee and Carson Wilds from Arrington, Tennessee tied for second-place honors. Stroup brought in scores of 78 and 78 for a total of 156 (+12), while Wilds tallied scores of 76 and 80 for a combined total of 156 (+12).

Boys 11-13

Nashville Junior Open

Hunter Riggs from Evansville, Indiana won in a playoff for first-place this weekend. Riggs brought in scores of 83 and 83 for a combined total of 166 (+22) for the weekend. Wyatt Merkins from Georgetown, Kentucky was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 81 and 85 for a combined total of 166 (+22). Brantley Moore from Memphis, Tennessee finished the top three honors with scores of 84 and 85 for a weekend total of 169 (+25).

Girls 14-18

Nashville Junior Open

Sarah Gallagher from Burlington, Ontario, Canada was the first-place finisher this weekend. Gallagher brought in scores of 81 and 81 for a combined total of 162 (+18) for the weekend. Nina McMurtrey from Glasgow, Kentucky was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 82 and 83 for a combined total of 165 (+21). Hana Barber from Lakeland, Tennessee and Lydia Bauersfeld from Newburgh, Indiana tied for third-place honors this weekend. Both Barber and Bauersfeld tallied scored of 83 and 86 for a combined total of 169 (+25) for the weekend.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 8-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. With play open to both males and females, nearly every junior golfer is eligible to participate on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Currently the HJGT is the largest multi-day junior golf tour in the United States hosting more 2-day nationally ranked events than any other tour. The HJGT has been able to achieve this goal by running the most professional events and providing an exceptional value to all of our players and families over the last 14 years.

Based out of Orlando, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the country. In 2021, the HJGT will conduct events in Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Canada. Juniors will compete in 1 of 6 divisions which are: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys under 10, Girls 14-18, and Girls Under 13. Click here to view approximate yardages for each division. The HJGT season is based on a calendar year and players earn points throughout the season towards year end honors beginning December 31, 2021.
