On October 28th and 29th 2017, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour hosted a tournament at the King’s Creek Golf Club in Spring Hill, TN. Golfers from all over Tennessee, Kentucky, Georgia and Alabama made the trip to King’s Creek. Course conditions for both rounds were challenging after heavy rain fall the night before tournament play and a cold front coming in. Temperatures were in the high 30s at tee off and stayed in the mid 40s throughout the round. Despite the difficult conditions, golfers remained poised and gave great effort.
Boys 16-18

In the Boys 16-18 division, Sam Marshall of Chattanooga, TN secured the win with rounds of 76-75 for a total of 151. Tied going into the second round, Marshall stayed composed and found his swing to take home the championship hardware. The second place winner was King Grisanti of Germantown, TN. Grisanti remained within one strokes of Marshall after Round 1. He put pressure on Marshall after he also finished his second round with a 75, but came up one stroke shy with an overall 77-75-152. Rounding out the top three finishers was Will Dycus of Cookeville, TN with rounds of 79-76 for a total of 155.
Boys 14-15

In the Boys 14-15 division, Jaden Zimmer of Humboldt, TN took the champion title. After a difficult end to Round 1, Zimmer finished 15 over par (85). Determined, he impressively dropped his number of strokes by 13 to end his second round 2 over par (72) for a total of 157. Second place was awarded to Grey Goodwin of Mount Juliet, TN. Goodwin shot rounds of 84-82 for a total of 166. The third place finisher was Mark McDearman of Lebanon, TN with rounds of 85-82 for a total of 167.
Boys 11-13

In the Boys 11-13 division, Will Jones of Alpharetta, GA secured the win. Jones ended the first round with an early 5 stroke lead. With great effort, Will was able to stay consistent in the tough weather conditions and finish with a final round 74. Jones scored an overall 75-74-172 for the weekend. The second place finisher was Ryan Porterfield of Cumming, GA with round totals of 80-79 for a total of 159. Third place was awarded to Trent Trousdale of Huntsville, AL. Trousdale shot rounds of 84-80 for a total of 164.
Girls 14-18

In the Girls 14-18 division, Shelly Jang of Franklin, TN was awarded the first place trophy with rounds of 71-77 for a total of 148. Jang took the lead early by holing out from 135 yards for eagle on the par 4 11th. Going into day two with a three stroke lead, Jang was able to hold off her fellow competitors for a two stroke victory. Sadie Pan of Clarksville, TN placed second with rounds of 74-76 for a total of 150. Rounding out the top three finishers was McKinley Cunningham of Clarksville, TN with rounds of 79-77 for a total of 156.
Girls U13

In the Girls U-13 division, Isabella Warwick of Huntsville, AL took home the champion trophy. Warwick shot rounds of 108-93 for a total of 201. She remained adamant as she lessened her strokes by 15 for the second round. Despite being the only golfer in her division, Warwick competed as if she was she was up against other high level golfers.
Boys 10 Under

In the Boys U-10 division, Leo Huddleston of Maryville, TN finished with the champion title with rounds of 99-98 for a total of 197. Regardless of being the only golfer in his division, Huddleston ambitiously competed as if he was against other top-level golfers.

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.
The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
