The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour traveled to Napa, CA to host the Napa Valley Junior Open at Chardonnay Golf Course on October 7-8. The players enjoyed some great weather on both days to post some great scores. Every player showed off their skills, and had tons of fun competing against one another at this gorgeous golf course.

Tiger Woods Boys 16-18

Napa Valley Junior Open

Moses Greene of Hayward, CA is the boys 16-18 champion. Moses won his division with a very impressive 71 on Saturday and a 70 on Sunday for a two-day total of 141. 2nd place went to Putty Basseer of Pleasanton, CA who scored a two-day total of 153 (76-77). Mickey Burkland finished in 3rd with a two-day total of 154 (77-77). These competitors showed off their experience as they seemed to get better as the round went on.

Will Smith Boys 14-15

Jacob Aaron of Napa, CA is the champion of the boys 14-15 division. Jacob showed his composure as he finished with great scores on both days. He posted a first round score of 76 and a second-round score of 76 for a total of 152. Avery Chen of also from Palo Alto, CA came in 2nd after finishing with a two-day total of 153 (74-79). Finishing in 3rd place also from Palo Alto, CA was Akira Isayama after posting a two-day score of 156 (77-79). These players loved competing with each other on both beautiful days.

Winning the boys 11-13 division from San Jose, CA was Anton Ouyang. Anton ended up scoring a 74 on Saturday and an impressive 70 on Sunday (144). Coming in 2nd place after scoring a two-day total of 150 (76-74) was Zachary Pollo from Rocklin, CA. Matthew Almajano from Fremont, CA finished in 3rd with a two-day total of 156 (74-82). All the players showed great determination in competing on every single hole.

Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18

Napa Valley Junior Open

Dymphna Ueda of Concord, CA is the girls 14-18 champion. Dymphna had an impressive 77 on Saturday and followed it up with a 72 on Sunday (149). Finishing in 2nd from San Francisco, CA was Lauren Shew who posted a two-day total of 153 (79-74). Finishing in 3rd place was Tuesday Epperson from Lincoln, CA after also scoring a two-day total of 154 (70-84). All the players showed off their great determination, and did not let anything stray their focus.

Justin Rose Girls U13

Napa Valley Junior Open

Harper Clementz is the girls 13 and under champion. Harper of San Francisco, CA shot a 92 on Saturday and a 82 on Sunday (174). Madison Starke of Walnut Street, CA finished 2nd with a two-day total of 178 (90-88). Finishing in 3rd was Juliana Vasquez after shooting a two-day total of 225 (113-112). This whole division had a lot of fun competing with one another while also learning some valuable skills.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
