Myrtle Beach Winter Junior Open

From December 18, 2021 to December 19, 2021, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Myrtle Beach Winter Junior Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of five divisions that included the Boys 16-18 Division, Boys 14-15 Division, Boys 11-13 Division, Boys U10 Division, and Girls 14-18 Division.

Jonathan Cowell from Murrells Inlet, SC was the first-place finisher this weekend after winning in sudden death playoff against Aaron Browning. Cowell brought in scores of 82 and 73 for a weekend total of 155, and finished with par on the playoff hole to be crowned champion. Aaron Browning from Waxhaw, NC was the runner up for the weekend. Browning brought in scores of 79 and 76 for a weekend total of 155. Zachary Huscussin from Clinton, OH and Ryan Lord from West Columbia, SC tied for the third place honors this Weekend. Both Huscusson and Lord finished with a score of 161 for the weekend.

Carter Allison from Mount Pleasant, SC was the first-place finisher for the weekend. Allison brought in scores of 79 and 75 for a weekend total of 154. Walker Faust from Greenville, SC was the runner up for the weekend. Walker finished with scores of 77 and 78 for a final total of 155. Matthew Hogan from Johnson City, TN rounded out the top three honors with scores of 81 and 77 for a weekend total of 158.

Myrtle Beach Winter Junior Open

Jamen Sanders from Goose Creek, SC was the first-place finisher this weekend after winning in a sudden dealth playoff with Campbell McLain. Sanders finished the weekend, 74 and 77 for a final total of 151. Jamen took home the champion title after the third playoff hole. Campbell McLain from Pawleys Island, SC was the runner up for the weekend. McLain scored a 74 and 77 for a weekend total of 151, and put up a tough battle against Sanders in the playoff. Harrison Aull from Davidson, NC and William Qiao from Delaware, OH tied for the top three honors for the weekend. Both Aull and Qiao finished with scores of 167 for the weekend.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 8-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. With play open to both males and females, nearly every junior golfer is eligible to participate on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Currently the HJGT is the largest multi-day junior golf tour in the United States hosting more 2-day nationally ranked events than any other tour. The HJGT has been able to achieve this goal by running the most professional events and providing an exceptional value to all of our players and families over the last 14 years.

Based out of Orlando, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the country. In 2021, the HJGT will conduct events in Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Canada. Juniors will compete in 1 of 6 divisions which are: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys under 10, Girls 14-18, and Girls Under 13. Click here to view approximate yardages for each division. The HJGT season is based on a calendar year and players earn points throughout the season towards year end honors beginning December 31, 2021.
